Well, maybe he'll help to attract the geriatric vote. He is a grandpa, after all.

We'll be hearing quite a bit about Biden's experience-good and bad.
The timing of this news could have been better.

The convention sure will be interesting.
Biden's speech will be sleep-inducing.

I can't wait to see the Clintons pretend to be all supportive and whatnot. You know everyone is going to be reading between the lines of their speeches.

PROS
1) He's not a hot headed warmonger.
2) Is the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations.
3) Has known real tragedy.
4) Looks like a cast member of High School Musical when compared to Grampy McSame.
5) Gave best comment of entire campaign when discussing Rudy Giuliani: "There's only three things he mentions in a sentence: a noun, and a verb and 9/11."
6) Very pretty blue eyes
7) Thinks Obama is clean
CONS
1) Unfortunate photographic hairplug evidence
2) Very famous 1965 law school plagiarism incident
3) Followed by unfortunate speech plagiarism in 1987, Presidential bid halted by Dukakis attack ad regarding said incident; being derailed by Mike Dukakis like being pecked to death by midget duck

How do I cancel my Obama text message? Now that this news is leaked, I don't need to be woken up early tomorrow morning by a useless text message. Plus, I don't want my number in their database.

I love that people bought into the text message thing as if we don't live in a world with no secrets (just ask John "but she was in remission" Edwards). Did you REALLY think that even with the best of intentions the campaign would be able to get texts out before the info was leaked?
And did you not know that they wanted your information as you submitted it to them?
There are plenty of things to be pissed off about in any political cycle, but seriously, caveat texter.

What a lame ****ing choice.
Seriously, you pass over Richardson and Clark for BIDEN????????
What the ****.
I'm so disappointed.
there is absolutely no reason to be excited about Biden.

I suppose the silver lining in all of this would be that if the rumors of McCain settling on Romney are true, his pick is just as dull and uninspiring.

Believe it or not, I actually called Biden back in February...
I am OK with the choice, but then, I am at the more moderate end of the Democratic Party.
I still would have preferred Clinton, but I under the circumstances, I can understand why he did not want them underfoot.
Those who think Obama is all about change are in for an unwelcome reality check.
Hillary for SCOTUS.
It's Biden, Bitches

The Detroit News (a conservative paper) says (in part):
"Biden's legislative record includes a lot of work on Michigan's signature industry: autos. He was intensely involved in Delaware's unsuccessful attempts to keep Chrysler's Newark, Del., assembly plant open. Last year, he authored a bill calling for a five-year, $500 million boost for research on lithium-ion batteries, the crucial technology for making plug-in hybrid electric vehicles practical."
"In an opinion piece that appeared in Wilmington News Journal, his state's largest paper, in the wake of the Newark plant decision, Biden and Rep. Mike Castle wrote, 'We must do whatever it takes to help our domestic auto manufacturers remain competitive.'"
"Though Biden, like most Democrats, generally has favored higher federal fuel economy standards, "he has always been there for us on auto issues" said Sen. Debbie Stabenow, D-Lansing."
"Biden grew up in working-class Scranton, Pa., and he could improve the Democratic ticket's appeal to white working-class voters and help solidify support with organized labor. And he is Roman Catholic; Catholics make up between one-quarter and one-third of the Michigan electorate, and are a constituency Obama sometimes struggled to win during the primaries."

That's all well-and-good from a Michigan perspective, Yawper - but on a national level, this is a yawner, in the extreme.
And that's even considering that I think the election will be won and/or lost in the upper mid-west this cycle.

It's an intelligent choice. Personally, I prefer an intelligent administration over one that's not a yawner. Choosing the President or Vice-President based on entertainment potential is not what I have in mind.

And on what are you basing the assessment that this would be an 'intelligent administration'?
The 'yawner' designation has to do with electability, not the ability to lead or govern. And right now, the focus is on getting elected.
The SMART choice wouldn't involve either one of them, but that's an entirely different discussion.

Maybe where you live the ability to lead or govern doesn't matter as much as 'electability' for the highest offices in the country, but that's what some of us look at.

Your comments come across as very 'high and mighty', Yawper.
That should come in handy as you support the Messiah.

c'mon, q, it's like he's running his campaign based on the principle: what would make papa giggle?
seriously? biden???? the human gaffe machine? in the youtube era, that's your guy? no wonder it's coming out in the middle of the night.
oh and if it's not, on the off-off chance that there's a real surprise announcement tomorrow, bammy just made pretty much the entire msm look stupid. but they don't usually mind stuff like that.
