Summer doesn't end until September something, so post those photos when you get back, Calvin! I'll just keep changing the name of the thread so everyone keeps posting photos of their travels...even if it's just to the supermarket AND it's November!

Here are two GIANT kimonos that were on exhibit at Bellegarde Castle. You can see how big they are because they stretch from the floor to the ceiling. They were pretty cool.

Well, I'm inspired by all of your beautiful photos from your summer vacations! So now I'll post a few of mine...

My vacation took place this summer (well, actually 20 minutes ago) after I was motivated by the glorious weather (ok - we're having a hurricane) to go for a long exploratory hike (a walk around the block).


(This is me starting out. OK - it's my foot, just before stepping into what turned out to be a rather deep puddle.)


(the newly formed lakes were all around me!)



(some of the lovely gardens found along the way)



(a quick jog through the woods and home again!)

Miss P. - I have no idea WHY you thought the weather was going to be bad today!

The Ba'hai Gardens are deceptive- here's Israel as it really is in the summer- the middle of the country, at least. No rain means lots of dust and not much greenery.



And this is the view from inside a cave ancient Jews used to hide from Romans. Um, before they were all slaughtered and scattered. Lots of Jewish stories end that way, it seems.
