A true penguin maybe, but not a smart penguin.
i spent a whole month in south carolina one week this winter.
ba-dum chick.
It's a beautiful state with really nice people, but I am ready to try something else.
spent Army time in Louisiana and Georgia, and thank God every day of my life that I never have to go back to the South again.......
RobbO, how does this make sense?
"spent a whole month in south carolina one week this winter"
Slightly off topic - but my adorable, sweet, gorgeous nephew just told me that he's getting married the first week of October. We're all invited to his beach wedding on the outer banks!
Spidey, it makes perfect sense.
Well, congrats. to your nephew. I hope it is a long, wonderful marriage.
Well, my pur sothern edeycatiun dun faled me agaen.
bway, if I never see Ft. Puke and Diseaseville again it will be too soon....now Ft. Gordon and Augusta were not bad, but I am allergic to the South it seems.
I almost got a job in Augusta. Thank God I didn't, because it was with one of the few papers in the country that actually editorialized in favor of a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage.

*raises hand* ... born and raised in one southern state, went to college in and have lived in another since getting married 26 years ago.
Blue Bell ice cream is on sale this week at a grocery near me.
$10 for 3 (half gallon). I can afford it this week! lol
Born in New York, but have lived in the Atlanta area most of my life.

Strangely enough, Outback Steakhouse uses Blue Bell in all of their locations, and my parents figured that out, so they actually order from Outback, and Outback puts an extra order in for them. It comes in huge containers, and I think they actually bought another freezer to accomodate.
Holy Mother of Liza I want some Blue Bell Ice Cream right now.
Blue Bell ice cream is the greatest thing EVER!

Like Kel, I was born, raised, and currently live in Kentucky. (I knew you were from KY, but I don't remember being the same age, that's fun!
Maryland is not officially Southern (but I go to school in NY, so everyone there claims it is) but I was raised by a Texan and spend summers in North Carolina.
Although I actually liked grits.
OH MY GOD, I love grits with cheese in it . . . YUM!
But, you yankees don't know what you are missing until you try some ICED SWEET TEA.

ew, I must be a bad southerner... I don't like grits or iced tea. Though I love biscuits & gravy and hashbrowns.
More specifically, I'm told I'm a bad Kentuckian because I don't like country music or basketball (the rivaly between UK and U of L is huge here- everyone has a favorite team and I couldn't care less).
I am proud of being a southern girl, though. I'm trying to embrace my accent because there is no escaping it. (you know it's bad when OTHER SOUTHERNERS make fun of your southern accent!) lol

"Seriously. Like no other ice cream on earth except supposedly some crap from Cincinnatti...but who believes anything good comes from Ohio?"
Greater's is the "Crap from Cincinnati". It's Oprah's favorite Ice Cream.
