Tiff - Generally speaking, yes, Amazing Race has been of higher quality than any of the other reality shows. Which is probably why it has won the Emmy every year. There have been some despicable teams on the show (Colin and Christy, Jonathan and Victoria), but overall, the show has never been dull and has pretty much always featured some really admirable people. It is still my number one favorite show.

Check out the Seventh Season of Amazing Race on DVD. Mysteriously, only the first and seventh seasons have been released on DVD, which makes absolutely no sense. but Season Seven was a good one.

I believe the only couple from this season to go to All Stars will be the Rednecks...which is great.

Rob and Amber, ugh, Charla and Myrna, funny, foolish and annoying will also compete, I hear.

Not sure about Jonathan and Victoria, but it is likely because they are media whores.

Regarding abusive partners, the guy partnered to the girl with one leg was very abusive, second only to Jonathan, imo.

I'll seriously consider boycotting due to the inclusion of Rob and Amber.

i really don't mind Rob and Amber. Media whores? Yes. Bad people? Not really. They play hard, but always with self-awareness and tongue firmly in cheek. Rob is nothing like Jonathan, who has some deluded sense of entitlement towards winning. And while Victoria was definitely annoying, her whining still didn't hold a candle to Flo from Season 3. It was such a miracle she and Zach won, even they were surprised by the news.

doodle - I would LOVE IT if David and Mary returned. They are possibly my favorite team EVER. If they could only get their sh*t together and try to actually WIN without worrying whether their friends are with them or not.

I didnt compare Rob and Amber to anyone else, Matt...especially abusive Jonathan. They clearly adore each other...but they were particularly nasty players on AR...those tactics are necessary on Survivor, perhaps, but there is no need to steal cabs, etc. There's gameplay and there's bad sportsmanship...they crossed that line.

Rob was pretty homophobic on Survivor, against the (adorable) gay guy that season. They did alot of snickered eye rolling at the expense of Lynn and Alex, imo, as well.

AND, I'm just sick of them being on my TV screen. Enough already. Who else is coming back for the third or fourth time, Alison from Big Brother?

I did compare the girl with one leg being abused by her blond partner as second only to the abuse dished out by Jonathan...who actually got physical, with her on AR and with Joe Rogan on Fear Factor.

Flo was the worst whiner (tho there were several runners up) and the most annoying racer ever...I'd never compare Victoria with her, especially with Victoria's handicap...Jonathan.

I didn't see the entire Marquesas season of Survivor, so I don't remember a lot about it other than Rob was playing everyone on that island. As for Lyn and Alex on Amazing Race, well, I did a lot of eye-rolling as well. They were just plain annoying.

Second most annoying racer ever...Gretchen! Oy! Fran and Barry were pretty bad as well.

If I remember correctly, he called the gay guy a "big-time quee-ah," among other things.
