As a college-age viewer, is it fine to see with your older parents? Or is it not appropriate?

It was so much funnier than I thought it would be based on the previous. It was hilarious, period. Almost nothing Melissa McCarthy says or does is unfunny, she's a genius, but then she also turns around and breaks your heart during some unexpected moments. Bullock is at her comedic best, restraining when she needs to, which only makes it that much more fun when she lets loose. Their chemistry is through the roof. Feig milks comedy from just about every scene and manages the tone incredibly well, not shying away from the genre (violence, explosions, car chases) while keeping the film insanely funny throughout. Such a fun, funny movie!

Brave Sir, it's an R-rated movie so there is a lot of profanity throughout, but nothing sexually explicit. It depends what your parents are sensitive to.

I had an absolute blast. McCarthy and Bullock shine. The movie is a laugh riot-so well paced and funny. Yes, its formulaic and predictable but that falls to the wayside. The chemistry is so solid and the belly laughs so plentiful, I had the best time. I really needed the solid laughs and it delivered. This movie is gonna make mad bank. Theatre was packed to the rafters and I went to a late show.

I'm glad this is getting good reviews. The previews don't really do it for me. Not sure why.

Jungle Red, don't let the previews keep you from watching this. I also hated the previews and didn't laugh at anything they showed, then when I watched the movie I laughed so hard at just about every moment they showed in the previews even though I knew what was going to happen. It's one of those (like BRIDESMAIDS, which I also thought had a terrible preview) that works so much in context, you have to know the characters and their relationship to one another to get how hilarious it all is.
Jordan, Jane Curtin had the best shots, her last close up in the film at that particular moment made me laugh so hard. She was fantastic. I agree the whole family was great, it was as if the family from THE FIGHTER had been placed in a comedy.

The tape and the forks in the bar scene. I nearly pissed myself, honest to god.

Count me as another person who thought the trailer was painfully unfunny but had a BLAST at the movie. The credits were awesome and the two of them were hilarious. A rare film were almost every joke landed.

I too loved the albino jokes- what's your wife look like? A sack of flour with a hole in it?

The scene in the club where Bullock was dancing trying to get close to the guy in order to bug his phone was hilarious. I completely lost it.

It's all set up for the sequel and it sounds like everyone in this thread will be there to see it!

Marie: Don't be in such a hurry about that pretty little chippy in Frisco. Tony: Eh, she's a no chip!

Great way to pass a few hours and enjoy yourself.

I haven't laughed so hard in a movie theater in years!

What a blast this movie is. The chemistry between McCarthy and Bullock is so electric it nearly sets the screen on fire. They are just perfect together! I almost busted a gut during the montage of the two of them at the dive bar. And that wasn't the first or last time I laughed like that throughout the film. And by the end, their relationship has developed into something actually quite moving.

Grab a couple of friends and go see it!! It's the perfect summer comedy...raunchy, profane, violent, and of course very, very funny.

Really like this. The two ladies have great chemistry. Can't agree w the choking scene. It went on 2 long and just didn't make me laugh. ( professional issues?) tho at least people will know that Father Mulcahey in M*A*S*H ISN'T reality based. ( tracheostomy is not a field procedure!) Also the knife in the leg ( yes other peoples pain is funny) but the re-stabbing ... too far. The albino bit was a scream and EVERYthing w the Mullins family was hysterical. Kinda hoping the two "sisters" can do a sequel.
OH and the sports themed religious pictures... if they haven't been done b4, by Gawd, somebody will now!

Hated the trailers. Made it look unappealing.

Loved the movie.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Wow. I'm actually shocked to read all the kudos. I, like many of you, thought the preview made me roll my eyes. Bit time.

Here's a question for you: I didn't like Bridesmaids, I'm thinking I still won't like this (despite your wonderful accolades). What do you think?

We laughed and laughed. I loved that there was none of the manic pacing and editing of most movies today. It was almost languid. Good to see Joey McIntyre and Tony V on the big screen.
