OMG, I saw this movie this afternoon and laughed my ass off. It's so ridonkulously hilarious and self referential that you know you're just watching a two hour joke between 5 movie star friends but it's still the most fun I've had at the movies in forever. And there are some absolutely amazing cameos in it (as to be expected). Has anyone else checked this out yet??

I'm afraid I'd need to be a bit closer to your age to appreciate the finer aspects of the picture. But I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Oooh!

Want some lotion for that?

What age would that be?

From what I've seen it's more or less aimed at the frat boy crowd, no?

Well I'm 34. And it's aimed at a very wide range of people.

You don't e-look a day over 31, Jordan. Don't let'm get to ya.

Based on your reaction to THIS IS THE END, plus the other buzz I hear, I think I'll check it out. I may end up liking it. It's rare that I like films with this type of humor, but it happens on occasion.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Age isn't necessarily a factor. I've hit the double nickel, but I can't wait to see this.

It's a hulluva lot of fun..

The jokes about Franco and his proclivities at parties was awesome as it's probably true..

The last ten minutes...Whitney and BSB...I mean....

You had me at hello!

It's a broad horror/comedy with situational humor about the end of the world. It's marketed toward the dude-bro/frat crowd because of the cast, but isn't written specifically for them. It's a strong, slapstick-heavy absurd comedy with a tight screenplay and really nice message attached. A bit heavy on the drug humor for my own tastes but I very much enjoyed it.

Thank God broadway guy doesn't venture to the off-topic board. It's a nice way to catch a break from him. THIS IS THE END

Should I write ten paragraphs that nobody will ever read every five minutes when I bump this thread?

HAHA! Seriously. What is his deal? Like. I get it. Some people think I'm a sock puppet because I am snarky and look at my avatar. Whatever. Don't care.

But Broadway Guy is so delusional and lacks any self-awareness. Does he not realize how annoying he is?

Sorry for threadjacking, by the way. He just makes my skin crawl. And he snipes you and Ljay and Clyde -- posters I enjoy and admire from following the Board for several years, now. It's so uncalled for!

Umm...yeah, so I loved THIS IS THE END. I played hooky from work today and saw it.

Jordy, you can write a fifteen paragraph essay on the film and I promise I will read every single word of it.

Carlos - I know it's Rated R (right?) but how inappropriate is it? Would it be okay for my nephew who is twelve? He has seen a couple of Rogen and Hill films, but nothing like "Superbad" or "Zack & Miri..."

No. It's a "Hard R" rating.

Jordan beat me to it. It's a hard "R"...I wouldn't take a 12 year old to see this.

I have a weakness for straight semi-douchey guys...I clearly have a problem.

I wrote that because, for a change, he was actually doing something acceptable.

Why is that so annoying to you?

Let's be real. I don't think broadway guy CAN actually do something "acceptable," though.

Fine, but...
WTF, PRS? What prompted you to take a swipe at me completely out of the blue? Was is because I wrote that I'm looking forward to seeing this movie?
