I never understood the concept of it being in Times Square to begin with. who will take over the space should prove interesting.

Perfect spot for a Broadway theater, no? Is it possible to renovate the building to become one? Their load-in doors could be on 44th.

CapnHook, the last building on that site before Toys R Us was the Criterion Center which was Roundabout's first Broadway theater.

If you read the article, the brokerage firm representing the landlord has already suggested that they'll divide it up into multiple retail parcels. It ain't becoming a Broadway theater.

And a very crappy theater at that. It used to be a movie theater and it wasn't good for live theater.
