actually, it was Noel.
then who's allison? oh, you mean the maid from newhart? yeah, i totally blocked out anyone not in the original designing women cast. that show should have just ended with the departure of suzanne.
I thought Jan Hooks was a hoot.
What was a true crime was the dresses they wore in the opening while listening to Ray Charles.
Did that make it into the movie "Ray?"
i think that is what is planned for "ray 2: the designing women years."
As a twist, Meshach Taylor will play the old version of Ray Charles, and Jamie Foxx will play the young version of Meshach Taylor.
Delta Burke will play the young Julia.
and Nicole Kidman will play Ima Jean.
Oh, hush, sweet RobbO...had the show ended with the departure of Suzanne, we never would have been treated to the glory and wonder that was B.J. Poteet!
Unfortunately, the show did not run long enough to reveal just how Mrs. Poteet got her first name.
She had a pet bear.
Her name was Bonnie Jean.
as long as nicolette sheridan plays bernice as rumored, i'll be fine.
i look forward to her horribly angular, botoxed within an inch of her life face singing, "black man! black man!"
what's a b.j. poteet?
BJ Poteet, darlin'! The wealthy widow who bought Sugarbaker's when it was almost bankrupt and gave it back to Julia 'cause she was so dang sweet, and had a two foot high beehive, played by Miss Judith Ivey.
i hated her character. and allison. and the jan hook's character. worst casting changes EVER!
And who doesn't love them some Judith Ivey?
ETA: robb, it seems.
I found BJ to be hilarious, and a wonderful partner-in-snark for Julia, who hithertofore was always a bit overpowering and too dominant in her Terminator-hood, and along came BJ to give it right back to her.
I agree, though, that Julia Duffy's character sucked the big one, and I wanted to see her get tied up and have her hair lit on fire.
Yeah, that Alison character was the worst thing ever to happen to that show.
judith ivey should have stayed on that porch in "down home" or whatever that sitcom she came from was called.
Almost Home? The Torkelsons spin-off featuring Brittany Murphy?
yikes! i was right. i'll take useless t.v. knowledge for $800, alex.
ivey's redneck savvy sitcom
You make me feel better about myself, robb.
it's a tough job but someone's gotta do it.
the premise of "down home" - After visiting home and finding her old boyfriend had become a developer and was going to level Hadley Cove to make it a Mini-Mall heaven, Kate (Ivey) ask if he was out of his Mini-Mind.
God, I so hope you read that and didn't just remember it.
I still like the theme song from "The Patty Duke Show".
