Taco Bell May Be Toast

You would? They are in MOST places in the village? that means over 50% of places in the village have rats. I must have been lucky not to see them these past 30 years.

I haven't had Taco Bell in a long while, but I highly doubt the entire chain would go out of business because of the rats in one store. I mean, the ecoli that was found in some Taco Bells didn't shut them down either. There are other franchises that have terrible restaurants, but those franchises haven't gone out of business. There was a pizza hut in a shopping center near me, and it was terrible. They actually ran out of pizza one time, how do you run of pizza at pizza hut? That place closed and it didn't effect the other pizza huts. The only way Taco Bell would be toast is if rats or bugs were found at every restaurant.
What's interesting is that the store that has the rats will apparently reopen after they scrub the store out and the health inspectors re-evaluate the place. It won't matter how many times you clean that place, I highly doubt anyone going back to eat there.

actually, it's easy to run out of pizza at pizza hut. the night person has to thaw out pizzas for the next day and if they don't do that, then you run out before the day is over. everything at pizza hut is microwaved. same with Burger King.
but i got your point.

I don't think this will hurt Taco Bell-people like the food, and it's cheap. I don't know about this particular location though. And I wonder about anything else that opens in its place, should it close down.
I once was on line for a pastrami sandwich at Katz's. Like for about 45 minutes. Just when my turn came up, they said they were out of pastrami!!!!

I still love Taco Bell, even though my friends have gotten food poisoning off the ones we have here...
I need to break up with them.

Taco Bell has definitely suffered alot here in the city--that Village location is also the one where alot of the PETA-esque protests happen too.
I think TB might be on it's way out, like Long John Silver's, Hardee's...

Get their sauce from the store and make your own burrito. I do it whenever I'm craving Taco Bell. Tastes the same and is much healthier. Just use refried beans, onions, add the sauce to your liking, and wrap in a tortilla. Yummy!

I lived for 15 years on 14TH and 6TH and saw a huge rat problem in that area. Specially when they dug up 14TH street. The damned things made it up to my fourth floor loft and would dine on the dog chow I left out for my pooch. Norwegian Roof rats (those are the breeds prevelant in the city) are fearless and quite bold!
I now live down in the Finacial District and there are thousands of rats down there. See them every night when I walk my dog. They scurry around and squeeze in under doorframes and cracks in buildings. I am sure they make their ways into many restaurant's basements and kitchens.
I think Taco Bell's problem was noone thought to call an exterminator once the tell tale signs of infestation was noticed.

Taco Bell used to be my number one place to eat...which is mildly disgusting. But, I never get anything with meat (theoretically). I get a Burrito Supreme with no meat and an order of Nachos with an extra side of cheese. And about ten fire sauces for the burrito. I used to put fire sauce in the cheese, too. Then I decided to have the cheese for what it is: pretty awful cheese.
So, yeah, I still love Taco Bell...even though it's probably killing me slowly (or quickly?).
