Whenever a Republican accuses a Democrat of something like whining, it's usually something the Republican does to a far, far greater degree. F'rinstance:

Sexual profligacy: Republican politicians seem to be required to cheat on their wives--even while they are lying in hospital beds.

Special interests and flip-flops: Republicans seem to whore themselves out not only to the highest bidder but often to the lowest bidder.

Activist judges: The appointment of George Bush by activist justices removed the last shred of dignity from the Supreme Court and reduced it to a partisan joke.

Respect for human life: What the Republicans have done to this poor woman's deathbed, by turning it into a circus and sending goon squads of protesters, is nothing short of despicable.

Update on the theatrics of this pitiful case: So today children were handcuffed and arrested after a demonstration, wanting to "give water to Terri." The arresting-of-children-card has now been played. The circus atmosphere of this is heightened every hour, as the Schindler family makes a new threat about a new level of intervention. The stay-tune hook of the momet: Will Jeb Bush treat this like a stay of execution? (the way his brother never did iin Texas -- but never mind.)

If this woman dies in the next 48-72 hours, which seems possible, there are no winners. Sshe will become a national martyr to the vaguest of causes... "life." A meaningless phrase, particularly when her plight is lumped in with the denunciation of abortion rights. Watch for an hysterical funeral with candles, wailing, invocations about justice and God's Will, i.e. stuff that matches the opening scene of EVITA. She will become a symbol, there will be Terry buttons, terri ribbons, terri t shirts -- she will not "die" but will grow to represent a small faction of zealots (as the polls demonstrate) ... yet USED by a larger one. People continue to respond emotionally to this case independent of what they actually know -- and personally believe -- to be true about its issues--even "good Christians" actually support pulling the plug, or disconnecting the tubes; it's done all the time in red and blue states, and even by Fundamentalists and Charismatic Catholics. So why the outrage? It allows an umbrella for myriad causes, even those that have zip to do with right-to-die.

Terri has never been represented in court? How can you say that? Independent counselors have been assigned to her case, her family has a lawyer filing ON HER BEHALF just as her husband is defending in what HE believes is her behalf.
Of course she doesn't have anyone specifically for her, because *NEWS FLASH* : she is incapable of that which makes us human anymore.
I can only hope that Terri's soul has long fled this pitiful excuse for a body and that she's currently pointing out to God all the hypocrites in this case for a little hellfire and damnation.

It's funny that most people think Jesus stopped talking or appearing after He ascended into Heaven. He's not dead yet either. He speaks loud and clear to anyone on any topic if they choose to listen. Like it or not, He makes valid points.

Hear My words, America. I speak to you as Jesus of Divine Mercy and Love. This week we embark on the holiest week in the Liturgical calendar. Weep not for Me as I am crucified and mortified for your sins and the sins of all humanity, but weep for those walking in darkness who crucify Me daily by destroying My little ones in the womb and now My beloved innocent handicapped who suffer for Me on behalf of all mankind.

My family, as we approach Easter Sunday and then Divine Mercy Sunday, offer your mercy novenas for these lost souls who try to put to death My loving daughter whom I now nourish with the Living Waters of My Spirit and hydrate with the Blood of My Sacrifice by which I make her clean and holy. Think not that your Jesus is not watching over My little one so tender in My sight, so pure and innocent.

Come with Me , My family, as I ride into Jerusalem this day to be accepted by My chosen people only to be condemned and crucified by these same people a few days later. Let us prepare with faith in My Father for the ultimate humiliation and desecration of your Jesus, Savior Divine. Suffer with Me, My family, and be made holy by this crucifixion, for by crucifying Me, My captors, likewise, crucified all those who believed in Me.

So, too, today My family, by crucifying My little Terri, the so-called just men of the law, today’s modern day Pharisees, crucify your Lord and all who believe in Me and My holy name. Take heart, My precious family, for just as your Savior rose from the dead and emerged from the tomb, I shall rise again from the pyres of immolation and declare the victory of My Father in heaven.

Pray, My precious ones, unceasingly for this outcome so My graces may descend to earth for the healing and cleansing of mankind and the inoculation of their consciousness against this disease called a ‘right-to-die’ or the ‘right-to-die with dignity.’ There is no dignity in death, My family, except in a death that is ordained by God at His appointed time when the soul commends its spirit to My Father.

My family, a soul cannot arbitrarily elect to terminate its own life in order to avoid painful circumstances or because they believe their life does not meet their expectations of acceptability. What would have happened, My loves, had I, your Jesus, terminated My life at the prospect of suffering a cruel punishment and an inhumane crucifixion? My family, the future of all humanity depended upon Me accepting My Father’s Will and carrying out My mission for the benefit and for the love and salvation of all mankind. Had I taken My own life to avoid such painful suffering and forgotten you, My brethren, for whom I endured all things, it would have been an act of ultimate selfishness.

Deceive not yourselves, My family, into believing you do a service of compassion to My servant sons or daughters suffering with infirmities to relieve them of their suffering which may be consecrated for the salvation of your very own souls. Pray for these lost sheep, My family, living in dark, soot-filled temples that My mercy rays may penetrate their self-imposed barriers and illumine the shadows of their mind with the sunshine of My love.

I adore you, My family. I AM your Jesus of Divine Mercy and Love. Amen.

But, but, but! WAAAAAAAAAAA!

1) Terri was never on "life support". She has always been breathing on her own. She was on a feeding tube. (Breathing represents life IMO)"

Answer: As you state, it's your opinion.

2) Terri's husband several years ago started living with another woman, and has had two children with this other woman. (Why doesn't he just seek a divorce?)

Answer: he's moved on with his life; Her parents haven't. Also, her parents have stated that they are willing to do anything (amputation for gangrene) heart transplant to keep her alive EVEN IF THEY KNEW IT WAS AGAINST HER WISHES. To divorce her would to give them control over what he states was not her wishes.

3) Terri has never been represented in court.

Phsycially, no...but my gosh her interests have been represented in court far beyond the means that we could possibly afford or access for ourselves.

4) Terri has never had an MRI done of her brain.

In December of 1990, Terri had an implant placed in her brain. Assuming that there was any metal in the implant, it would have to be removed before an MRI could be performed.
