Two Survivor winners, the youngest person to sail around the world alone, ex-NFL player, and two Olympic snowboarders. Way to keep it real, CBS. But at least we have some gay flight attendants!

In CBS' defense, "domestic partners" might be how they refer to themselves. They did refer to Chip and Reichen as "married" during their season.

"Two Survivor winners, the youngest person to sail around the world alone, ex-NFL player, and two Olympic snowboarders. Way to keep it real, CBS."

I guess CBS wants the ratings to go up. Still, season 18 ("Unfinished Business") did a respectable job with ratings. It averaged over 10 million viewers and also placed in top 40 most watched shows of the 2010-2011 season, it finished at #39, and had more viewers than other popular shows like ""House" (#40) "Glee" (#41), and "Law & Order SVU" (#44)

http://www.deadline.com/2011/05/full-2010-11-season-series-rankers/

However, ratings dropped from season 17, which aired in the fall of 2010 and placed at #22 with nearly 12 million viewers, and the season 18 finale was the lowest watched finale in the history of the show.

I am surprised that Ethan and Jenna thought they could get away with people not recognizing who they are by not telling them who they are. I know it's been a while since they competed, but they are both very recognizable and they are most well-known "Survivor" couple after Rob & Amber. I'm interested to see what the double-elimination leg will be like next week.

Regarding the use of "domestic partners" - they are California residents. Outside the @18,000 couples who are legally married, due to the short window of allowability by the Prop 8 debacle, the official recognition available through the California state government (that you must register for through your county) is a domestic partnership.

Last night was fun. I felt bad for the older couple that was so clueless as to the first clue, but at least they get a second chance.

Based solely on my impression from last night, I don't like the twins or the showgirls. I think the girl from the brother/sister team is going to get annoying, too. Like the snowboarders, father/son, and the older couple, but it's difficult to see the older couple hanging around for much longer. I don't dislike the Survivor couple, but I can't root for reality show winners to win another reality show.

I thought it was highly surprising that the first leg was a non-elimination. My always suspicious mind thinks that the producers didn't want the older couple to go out the way they did, which is why they spared. Of course, since next week is a double elimination, I can't imagine them pulling ahead. It will be interesting to see if we find out how much time separated them from the other teams. Didn't they say they were looking for the "look up" clue for over four hours?

I found that I didn't really hate any of them just yet. I'm sure I will in time.

I have to remember to add time to Tivo on Sundays when I record this...

Enjoyed the first episode, and agree with PRS that the producers may have revised the first leg to spare the grandparents from being eliminated. They were so lovely.

Dislike the showgirls and the twins at this point.

Slightly off topic, but the episode that was submitted at the Emmys and helped the show win again was "The Unfinished Business" where Ron & Christina were eliminated. It was also the episode where Teams wander around Varanasi, India searching for clues on the street and later making fuel patties out of water buffalo manure and delivering bales of hay around the city.

SPOILER:

I never once thought that Ethan and Jenna would go home in the second episode. That was a surprise. That donation part really affected the outcome of the placements. I'm disappointed that the brother and sister are still competing. They get on my nerves.

I'm glad the Survivors are out, the black brother/sister team can't leave soon enough for me.

I have nothing against Ethan and whateverhernameis, but I just can't root for a couple that has each already won $1m on a reality show.

Exactly, madbrian.

I actually got my head turned around when everyone had to go back to the orphans. When the millionaires came back I thought there were more than one team behind them and they had made it in the nick...interesting twist.

It's still so flabbergasting when someone drops their clue (or passport!), doesnt completely read their clue or leaves their clue at the roadblock. I know from travelling together I'd be asking every five minutes "Do you have the clue and your passport?" "REad me the clue again...slowly this time!"

I'm also surprised that most of the teams didnt bother reading that sign.

I was a little sad the flight attendants went, but they kinda stunk on that leg. Glad the oldsters did so well!

The brother/sister team is the only one I dislike! Their feuding seems like a put on for television.

Well, the twins and chorus girls annoyed me last week, but they got virtually no camera time this week.
