Well that's the great thing about WW! Things you aren't supposed to eat on other diets, WW allows you to eat.
I lost those pounds this week despite:
Starbucks Lite Fraps
Light Beer
a bacon, egg, cheese, bagel
a quesadilla
cookies
The point is that I didn't eat a lot of those things--just enough to enjoy.

Whatever works for you, Heart! I too get into certain food grooves that may sem boring (I love broccoli and could have it every day) but I like 'em.
I am just back from my fist WW meeting in a LONG time (cough cough). I was prepared for the worst - but y'know...I didn't do so badly. I only gained 1.6 pounds (and after Saturday's no-holds barred Bar-B-Q, that's pretty astonishing).
Chita: here's some points:
Mars bar - 6 points
Bagel (can be anywhere from 5 - 6 points)

Posted: 7/25/05 at 6:42pmI did the whole eating the same thing everyday for a while. But it stopped working.

Posted: 7/25/05 at 6:48pmI've found one of the best things for has been not to completely deprive myself of what I want. If I'm dying for chocolate, I let myself have some, only on a much smaller scale than I used to. I find even one little bite will help quench the craving and I don't need the rest. If I force myself NOT to have it, one day I'll break and overindulge.

Posted: 7/25/05 at 7:33pmI'm the same way Elphie, I do best when I indulge a little once in a while. That is, as Jerby said, the beauty of WW, as long as you count the points you can eat whatever you want. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go have a WW Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Sundae, 4 pts, but so worth it.

I'm sorry, did you say WW makes a chocolate chip cookie dough sundae?! Wow, that sounds good...

Yoda, do you realize how crazy it is to happen upon something about you I had no idea about!
I was thinking about asking if you wanted to start doing the weight watchers thing when I got home because it has worked so well for Amanda, but I had no idea you had started, and already lost so much weight.
It sounds like it is working well, hopefully I wont mess it up too much when i get back, but it does sound actually doable, unlike so many of those other diets.
What is your next goal?

Yes Elphie, they're part of their Smartone's line and they're marvelous! Small and only 2 to a box, but so worth it.
Penguin check your PMs.

Posted: 7/25/05 at 9:50pmThe WW cookies and cream ice cream bars are huge, delicious, and only 2 points. They're vanilla ice cream bars with cookie pieces in them and coated in chocolate cookie pieces. SO GOOD:)
I love Les Miserables.

I love WW Online - I lost 8 pounds in the first 8 days. Now I'm up to 12 and I've only been on it a month. It's great because you can still eat what you want (in moderation, of course). I have light ice cream every day.
Once you're on it for a while you'll realize how shockingly large portion sizes are at resturaunts. Now when I go out to dinner I take home 2/3 of my meal and get 2 more meals out if it as leftovers.

Smart!
Or you just wait until the end of the week and go out to eat with your weekly points saved up. Highly possible that if you don't dip into those points much, you could have Coldstone ice cream once a week and lose weight! (Not that I am about to try that, seeing how it probably isn't the most advantageous way to lose weight).
I imagine after some time, eating smaller portions not only becomes habit--it becomes desirable. True?

Hi, if you have any suggestions for me I would be happy to accept them.
I was 207 pounds four years ago. Then I started doing fitness and eat less (I didn't eat bread for dinner, nor sweets, nor junk food). I lost almost 40 pounds this way in two years. But since then I couldn't lost more weight. I feel fine and I have started new sports like swimming and doing Tai-bo. I love exercising and I only eat diabetic yogurt or muesli. Can you help me?

The best trick I learned from WW is healthier alternatives to the junk food I love...for example,
I make a low fat spinach quesidilla by using fat free tortillas, low fat shredded Mexican cheese, spinach, Adobo seasoning and I Can't Believe It's Not Butter...
I make a kick ass 3 pt grilled cheese by using 2 slices of light bread (ie Wonder light), 2 slices of 2% Kraft slices, and again, I Can't Believe... The 2% slices are only 1 point each and melt better than and taste MUCH better than fat free slices....
Instead of potato chips, Soy Crisps or Fat Free Pringles...
Instead of a candy bar, a Kudos Granola Bar, Snickers or M&M flavor...
OH and for hot dog fiends, Kosher's Best makes a 97% fat free hot dog for 1 point...its absolutely delicious...tastes the same as a regular beef hot dog....

Undi--maybe use whole wheat lasagna pasta? That's what I do. Part skim ricotta, if you have been using reg Ricotta. Lean meat. I think it's about finding ingredients that themselves are lower in fat, calories, etc.
cserannie - all I can say is that South Beach helped me lose 20+ pounds. And, then I hit a plateau. This first week of WW pushed me past finally. And, I was kinda naughty on it!!

Posted: 7/26/05 at 1:34pmUndi, don't forget you can add other variations to it too... Like diced carrots and celery, pearl onions, etc...
#70re: The BWW Weight Watchers Club
Posted: 7/26/05 at 1:38pmground turkey is also a good variation for the meat one to be kept at home... lean and good source of protein...

I guess I'm gonna join the club...I've been plateauing at 38-40 lbs for a while, and now gained a bit, flipped out (I generally eat 1000 cals a day plus exercise), and binged like crazy.
Now I'm back on track and could use support. Good luck everyone!

C - we always use ground turkey for chili and lasagna. Also, turkey burgers when dressed up are excellent. We put a little chili sauce or ketchup with soy and a little jack cheese in the mix before cooking.
Can I join the club. I have a picture of my face in April, 2004 covering all of Times Square - that was 35 pounds ago!

Posted: 7/26/05 at 1:45pmB: That is the only problem with turkey. It does need to be seasoned a lot more for flavor.
