Also, do we know if Sarah even knows what the phrase "Achille's Heel" means?
Gosh darn it, I'm just askin'.

I heard she had to be corrected on that at boot camp.
she thought it was an underwater sea creature from the "Achilly" region of the "Big Ocean"

Theme of the night:
Joe Biden KICKED Sarah "I'm gonna be Bush and call 'NUCLEAR' 'nuculer'" Palin's ARSE. big time
Seriously, I don't get why so many people were worried about him. I was IMMENSLY impressed by him. I think he's actually a stronger debator than Obama, and really helped to solidify/clarify a lot of Obama's stances on the issues! I just love that he doesn't dance around the questions. He ANSWERS them straight on, and really well.

This is what we've been reduced to - and it isn't pretty.
What it has become is a three-ring circus - which I've always hated, because you never know where to watch.
I must comment on one seemingly inconsequential thing - NO, you should NOT call him 'Joe'! You are involved in a contest for one of the most impacting positions on the planet. And you are engaged in that contest with a man who has held federal public office for over three decades. That entitles him to be addressed appropriately.
Your attempt to reduce this to a 'talk over the fence' is an insult to him, the process, and anyone who is trying to pay attention to these proceedings and afford them the respect they deserve. Although, I will give you marks for paying attention to what the puppeteer told you.
I won't even comment on the nonsensical drivel that poured forth from the 'hockey moms' mouth after that. Quite frankly, it merits no analysis whatsoever.
One private comment to papa - if you honestly continue to claim validity concerning this insult to the process, then you're not as smart as I had thought. And if you simply derive pleasure at the success of what is obviously an abhoration, then you are not the man I've come to like. Take a look at your child, realize the future is being determined, and act accordingly.

"Biden was very good as well and his pulling of a "Hillary," whether it was planned or not came across well, at least to me. I found him more likable than Obama in fact."
I honestly just can't imagine how a thing like that WOULD be planned- I mean, he was talking about what it was like losing his CHILD! If that's not a reason to get emotional, I don't know what is!
(not to sound like I'm jumping on you, I really don't mean it like that at all. I just don't quite understand in general how people could actually think that that was fake. Politicians are still people. People have emotions, especially when talking about deeply personal, emotional things. It happens)
And in terms of likeability... well I feel like Biden and Obama are both really likeable, just in differnet ways. Obama's more captivating because he's an amazing orator, whereas Biden just seems like a pretty darn cool guy :) He's likeable in that.. you can relate to him but he still comes across very inteligent kind of way.

i didn't watch the debate. i was sleeping and had i been awake i woulda watched supernatural anyway.
q, they're gonna win. and she's gonna lose in '12 to hillary. i'm fine with that. yeah, i'm fine with a hillary presidency in 2012. she's a veep candidate. she's going to go to state funerals. i'm more concerned about nancy pelosi being 3rd in line than i am with sarah being #2.

Okay, finally watched...or listened rather...to the debates and Biden clearly won.
What's happening to the Republicans is very, very clear: They are using "the Rove strategy" and its had its day. It's over. It's no longer effective. Everyone can see through it. Just as Kerry and Gore used "the Clinton strategy" in their campaigns and that didn't work.

Posted: 10/3/08 at 10:24amI really liked how Biden brought up the fact that he's a parent, too. Palin seems to think she has the market on being a parent. Does she not realize that the other candidates are fathers?

The only thing that woman is ready to lead is a high school pep rally.
And her Georgette Bush act was beyond annoying.

Paljoey, how are ya feeling today? LOL
Yes, she was terrible. The winking and cutesy behavior was ridiculous. If it's possible, I dislike her even more now.
And the fact that she disregarded the questions being asked? WTH?

swamped at work but wanted to weigh in - i thought, surprise surprise, that this was a clear victory for Biden.
i am sure many will say i'm biased, but more so than the Obama / McCain debate where I gave Obama a SLIGHT edge, I think Biden outperformed Palin by a mile. 2 miles. 10 miles!
The way she refused to answer Gwen's questions and would only stick to her talking points and note cards was disgusting. The way she WINKED at the camera... what the ****!!! we're talking about sexism every 5 minutes and we have a candidate who can get away with winking at us every 5 min and calling us "joe six packs"... and thats not condescending?
the "folksy-ness"... obnoxious. not one ounce of substance from her. I loved how Biden turned the tables back at her every time... something Obama hasnt even been as successful at doing.
It's hard to say what my favorite line was... was it the "I call that the ultimate bridge to nowhere..." or the "McCain is no maverick!"
But what amazed me the most was that 75% of what she said, I have heard her say before. It's like she took her previous 2 speeches and "remixed" them and just pulled out line after line with no regard to what the topic was. It was amazing to me.
Biden... clear winner. By far. No doubt about it.
Biden just outperformed her by a mile.

But then, what would one expect from someone who supports the inhumane slaughter of wild animals in Alaska, a practice that even many hunters find objectionable.

Man, what a naive and ignorant woman. Tina Fey and SNL will have a field day on this one, that's for damn sure. Palin's so out of her league that even Alexander, Gonzalez, Clemente, Root, McEnulty, Kennedy, Puryear, Knapp, and Castle would all wipe her all over the place if they were and should've been invited...
