I thought that they both did a great job, and yes, that includes Gov. Palin.

And no, I'm not a sock puppet, disillusioned American, or idiot just because I felt like Gov. Palin did a great job.

I thought they both did well, too. Palin definitely came off a lot better than John McCain did. Biden did better than I had expected him to. My complaint with Palin is that she kept saying the same thing over and over again whether she answered the question or not.

Palin was all talking points, whether it pertained to the topic or not.

As an Obama supporter, I am thrilled with tonight's debate. Everything in this election is moving in Obama's direction right now, and McCain needed a game changer. This wasn't a game changer. She may have met, or even exceeded the MSM's low expectations, but frankly I was more concerned with Biden saying something stupid. Nothing happened tonight that should change the direction of the election, and that's a win for Obama.

My best friend predicted tonight would be a "make or break" night. Well, it really hasn't been. Neither of them imploded or did anything obviously embarrassing. Both of them will be applauded by their respective bases. Maybe it's just because expectations were so high, but I don't see this being a great influence either way.

HD Needs to get a life already!

I feel so sorry for HD. A closeted gay man who has to hide like a coward under numerous screen names. A sad lonely troll who actually is stupid enough to think he is persuading some to vote Republican! LOL! His lame ass cheers for Palin I am sure were written way before the debates ever started. Nothing more than a SPAM generator he is.

I think if we're completely honest with ourselves, Biden wiped the floor with her, but she did what she needed to do (which was not fail). All she did was prove that she can put a coherent thought together, but she still confirmed the myths about her that she is largely lacking in substance. Meanwhile Biden confirmed his legacy as a guy who's been in the senate for a very, very long time, but he looked really intelligent.

Ultimately I don't think this debate really did anything but take the focus off of the vice presidential candidates. I think we know who they are now and we can stop being sidetracked and focus on Obama and McCain. I doubt the polls will move much.

Just one more question. Do the "real" American people (the "Joe Sixpacks" and "hockey moms", etc.) really enjoy it when Palin condescends to them in such a phony, shameless way? The experts currently dissecting the debate certainly seem to think so (Palin was "talking directly to the average American", etc., etc.,--I think I'm going to throw up.)

For what it's worth, many "swing voters" in the CNN post-debate discussion group said this debate has made decide for whom to vote. One guy said McCain, but half of the group said Obama. (The rest are still undecided.)

Romy: Your patron Saint, Andrea Mitchell just gave major kudos to Palin!

Also, you seem to be very confused about who you are addressing.

I live blogged the debate. Sorry you didn't watch but stopped by to let off your stink bomb.

Exactly roquat. Even though there are a lot of stupid people in America, I think all of the analysts who think she did a good job talking to the average non-Washington people are a bit out-of-touch because she totally read as condescending and fake.

"[Gore] was widely perceived as arrogant. If you know something, you're not smart. You're a smarty-pants. It's annoying. People get annoyed with your knowledge. It goes back to high school, to not doing your homework ... 'There's something I should know, I don't know why I should know it but someone knows it and I don't. So I'm going to have to make fun of him now.'" -Sarah Vowell, The Partly-Cloudy Patriot

My daughter said the lines on the bottom of the screen (CNN) were more interesting than the debate. When they polled the CNN audience after the debate, they made the remark that the lines went down when she started talking about her hometown. Also, she never answered the question on what was her achilles heel. She kept turning the questions back to her strong point (energy) without answering the question. Biden did very well- who would have thought that the man would have been moved to tears and not the woman. I loved how he put her family argument to rest.

Wow. Sarah has the Latte Liberals in a lather. That proves how well she did.

I thought she was a bit condescending as well, but honestly, if people can buy McCain as Joe Sixpack then clearly they don't know when they're being condescended towards.

Andrea Mitchell is a Republican, isn't she?

Her voice alone makes me want to retch. Her folksy expressions come off as saccharine and disingenuous. Everything that came out of her mouth sounded over rehearsed. How ANYONE with even a tinge of intellect could possibly say that she won the debate is dumbfounding to me. The best thing I can say about Palin is she didn't stink; but Biden clearly won hands down. This was a big win for Obama/Biden. It isn’t going to help McCain one iota. The downward slide continues.

McCaskill is on TV shrieking now like a stuck pig with lipstick.

Before anyone gets offended, don't forget that Bammy called Palin a pig.

The liberals are squirming. They had to bash Palin like she is Ronald Reagan.
