She's been an executive. She is the only one on either ticket!
Wow! She is impressive.

Um Joe Biden's son was badly injured in a car crash that killed his daughter and first wife.
I think anyone would choke up and nearly cry at recalling that moment.
Yes, but why recall it? Seems rather manipulative to me.

Scotty..
She is not winning arguments...she is giving her base something bigger to cheer for.... PERFORMANCE!
If her base feels she has risen to the occasion and entertained and outshone (not out-smarted)...THAT will be more than enough to get her base excited and feel encouraged to head to the polls.
Her little catch phrases will be played over and over again for the next week or so.
She will have won the PERCEPTION game.

I don't see much style in her performance. There were many times where she looked stumped and seemed confused over what the questions were or what Biden was saying. There were even times where her voice was shaking and I was wondering if she was suppressing a cry. People are noticing that she's not answering the questions and keeps trying to force the focus to issues where she spew more shallow rhetoric.
Even Biden seems like an old stodgy and stuffy but educated college professor, then she is seeming like an uneducated know-it-all PTA mother that all the other mothers hate.

That's no newsflash to me. That's why I asked if he was going to cry? That's manipulative. Remember when Hilary did it?

Incidentally, I loved Biden's "bridge to nowhere" dig and his "seven hundred years of history" comment re: the Middle East crisis.
As far as Gwen is concerned, why is she considered "pro-Obama" because she's writing a book involving him (as she herself pointed out)? It isn't because Republicans make automatic assumptions about race, is it? Oh nooooo.....

Posted: 10/2/08 at 10:33pmI give the slight edge to Biden, but by holding her own, the perception may have been perceived as winning.

Well with that performance McCain can rest assured that his base voters are ready to vote for him.
With that settled, he can now focus on the independents.. which will be his next step... I'm guessing.

Posted: 10/2/08 at 10:33pmYou know, her folksy routine has got her where she is. But on this scale and how the country is feeling right now?..I just dont think America is in the mood.

However,
On the heels of America's disillusionment with Congress, that folksy routine might be just what they're looking for.
