Sarah Won it! Grand Slam!

She's been an executive. She is the only one on either ticket!

Wow! She is impressive.

re: The Biden/Palin Debate Thread...get ready!

Um Joe Biden's son was badly injured in a car crash that killed his daughter and first wife.

I think anyone would choke up and nearly cry at recalling that moment.

Yes, but why recall it? Seems rather manipulative to me.

Huh?

Where does Palin govern again?
Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!

"Yes, but why recall it? Seems rather manipulative to me."

Newsflash: All politicians are somewhat manipulative.

Scotty..

She is not winning arguments...she is giving her base something bigger to cheer for.... PERFORMANCE!

If her base feels she has risen to the occasion and entertained and outshone (not out-smarted)...THAT will be more than enough to get her base excited and feel encouraged to head to the polls.

Her little catch phrases will be played over and over again for the next week or so.

She will have won the PERCEPTION game.

Sarah Won it! Grand Slam!

I don't see much style in her performance. There were many times where she looked stumped and seemed confused over what the questions were or what Biden was saying. There were even times where her voice was shaking and I was wondering if she was suppressing a cry. People are noticing that she's not answering the questions and keeps trying to force the focus to issues where she spew more shallow rhetoric.

Even Biden seems like an old stodgy and stuffy but educated college professor, then she is seeming like an uneducated know-it-all PTA mother that all the other mothers hate.

"[Gore] was widely perceived as arrogant. If you know something, you're not smart. You're a smarty-pants. It's annoying. People get annoyed with your knowledge. It goes back to high school, to not doing your homework ... 'There's something I should know, I don't know why I should know it but someone knows it and I don't. So I'm going to have to make fun of him now.'" -Sarah Vowell, The Partly-Cloudy Patriot

That's no newsflash to me. That's why I asked if he was going to cry? That's manipulative. Remember when Hilary did it?

Megan Mullaly should play Palin in the TV movie.

Incidentally, I loved Biden's "bridge to nowhere" dig and his "seven hundred years of history" comment re: the Middle East crisis.

As far as Gwen is concerned, why is she considered "pro-Obama" because she's writing a book involving him (as she herself pointed out)? It isn't because Republicans make automatic assumptions about race, is it? Oh nooooo.....

I ask in all honesty/What would life be?/Without a song and a dance, what are we?/So I say "Thank you for the music/For giving it to me."

Well with that performance McCain can rest assured that his base voters are ready to vote for him.

With that settled, he can now focus on the independents.. which will be his next step... I'm guessing.

You know, her folksy routine has got her where she is. But on this scale and how the country is feeling right now?..I just dont think America is in the mood.

Megan Mullaly should play Palin in the TV movie.

However,
On the heels of America's disillusionment with Congress, that folksy routine might be just what they're looking for.

Megan Mullaly should play Palin in the TV movie.

Slight edge? Besides the words "Maverick" and "Hockey Mom" I can't really recall her saying anything worth remembering or substantive, in terms of her quality to be Vice President.
