Some bible thumping bitch I used to know named Tiffany posted a thing supporting Chik-Fil-A. I wrote to her -

"I see you "Support Chick Fil A". Do you know that by "supporting" them you support an organization that spent money to support a bill allowing for the execution of people in Uganda because they were gay? This isn't a "free speech" issue. It's a civil rights issue."

One of their friends posted this to me -

Is this for real! Tiffany, I LOVE YOU! All I can say is that if you actually are gay, Matt, then have at it. Christians never hated you, we didn't agree with you. Finally a good decision was made when gay marriage was banned. Have your own union, domestic partnership whatever u want that mocks marriage, but don't take the label that was made for a man and woman away. Guilty conscious much? Why could you possibly be so worried about what others think of your sexual preference? I'm not whining because gay people want to marry the same sex and I don't because WE HAVE DIFFERENT POINTS OF VIEW and preference. It's pretty hypocritical if you are so liberal to be so upset what the 'other side' is doing, are you the ones that are all about being who you are and freedom of speech?!?!?!? All this talk is making me crave Chik-Fil-A, heading there now to take advantage of MY rights and support what I believe in. Power in numbers... A friend of a friend wrote this (I'm pretty sure she wrote it herself) in response to everything:

I am sorry that there are people out there that hate you.
I am sorry if there as ever been anyone out there who has said that you are not good enough.
I am sorry if anyone has ever told you that your love was not good enough for God.
I am sorry if anyone has ever made you feel that Jesus wouldn’t love you.
I am sorry if someone has made you confused, sad or hurt because you are what God made you.
I am sorry that people use the Bible, a book that teaches us to “love thy neighbor,” to tell you that you are wrong.
I am sorry if you have been scared because you thought your parents may not love you.
I am sorry if you have had to hide because someone taught another child how to hate.
I am sorry if you gave up on church, because the church gave up on you.
I am sorry that you had to call your true love your “roommate.”
I am sorry that there are organizations out there who try to defeat you.
I am sorry that there are companies out there who give profits to those organizations.
I am sorry that there are so many people willing to take pride in supporting those companies and organizations.
I am sorry and that I have ever eaten at Chick-Fil-A.

I don't like that. The employees have done nothing wrong (for the most part, I'm sure) and that's just weird.

My fear is that some 'Good Ole' Boy' will be waiting for some queers to start smooching and all in their sacred Chick Fil A. Don;t be surprised to hear of some violent encounters around various Chick Fil A's. Oh, and it will be the Queers who started it. Yup! They came looking for trouble and they needed to be taught a lesson.Any state that recognizes concealing firearms that has a Chick Fil A in it better be warned. Lets not forget one thing people. These God fearing down to earth loving Christians are scary Mother Fuc*ers!

I think it's fascinating that people would wait on those crazy long lines for fast food just to let the world know that they think gay people should legally be discriminated against.

I don't understand what "backfired"???? They chose a date to swoop down on Chick Fil A to let the world now that the rights of others meant nothing compared to a chicken sandwich. It's not like this is a surprise. And it's not like people who aren't dickweeds said "Hey, let's boycott Chick Fil A on August 1 only and if a lot of people eat there then it must mean that gays deserve to be discriminated against, and not that this country is filled with a ton of hypocritical asswipes who would think that buying some fast food chicken somehow makes them superior Americans."

Look at the waist lines on most of those people! I say EAT UP your fried chicken sandwiches. The coronaries are on you!

They're saying since the restaurants had such a good turnout today that the gay agenda backfired.

As has been my policy for quite a while here, I will refrain from responding to Romanitco's flame. I don't think it is fair for me to engage him as my previous encounters with him strongly support his lack of intelligence, not to mention the fact that he appears to have serious mental health issues.
However, as to the backfire comment, I would think it speaks for itself. The line in the video is apparently indicative of what happened all over the country, not just red states. The bottom line is, it is simply wrong for government officials to say they are going to punish people or businesses because of what they believe.

Mikey, what on earth does the government have to do with this event?

And can I ask you to complete this sentence: "I believe that not all Americans deserve the same civil rights because . . . "

I keep substituting every group I can think of--blacks, Christians, women, Polish Americans, Republicans, Irish Americans, Muslims-- for the current situation, and I can't finish that sentence in a way that would let me sleep at night.

You're obviously someone who thinks a lot about social issues. I'd truly love to hear your thoughts.
