Someone tweeted that half a million people took part. Half a million isn't that many in the scheme of things considering there are some 30 million Evangelicals in the US. It sounds like a Chick-Fil-A fail to me.

*The mayor of Boston told Chick Fil A that they are not welcome in that city. He also said that they would have a hard time getting zoning rights to open a shop in his city.
*THe mayor of San Francisco said that the closest Chick Fil A to that city was 40 miles away, "and they better keep it that way."
*And the mayor of Chicago, former Obama sidekick Rahm Emanuel, said that Chick Fil A does not represent the "culture" of Chicago (you know, the city where 7 year old girls selling lemonade get shot in gang wars!).

Interesting thing. I am wondering if there is going to be a backlash against the Muppets, (you know Piggy, Kermit and Gonzo) because Henson Productions pulled their toys. Funny thing is The Muppets are no longer a part of Jim Henson Productions, they are owned by Disney, have been since a few years after Jim's death. Even though the NUMBERS may not be impressive, I found the picutres of the morons waiting pretty impressive (not in a good way). Even up here in liberal Massachussets the lines were crazy (granted, we only have a few CFA in all of New England).
The man is allowed to believe anything he wants, and even to state it publically, but it is the FINANCIAL support of hateful, harmful groups that I protest. And I find it woeful that so many financially supported his "free speech" and gave him more money with which to spread his hate.

The lines were out the door at the local store as well. Made me sad. I made a comment about it on my facebook last night and I was immediately accused of not believing in the first amendment. Anyone who thinks that this is a first amendment issue cannot see the whole picture. No one I have spoken to has said they're not entitled to their opinion. It's the fact that they are actively trying to hurt someone else. That they are knowingly trying to deny rights the rights of their fellow man. Like, drama, that is what I am against. I am against hatred not the first amendment. I will also be pulling away from Wendy's after hearing about an owner's support of CFA

You don't know what you are talking about. This is nothing BUT a free speech and freedom of religion issue. Government officials, specifically the mayors of San Fransisco, Boston and Chicago, threatened Chick Fil A with government action because of something the owner said.

And it's about hypocrisy. Most anti-gay Christians point to Leviticus for a verse "condemning" homosexuality. So, how about we look at another verse in Leviticus?

1. Dan Cathy donates millions to groups who work to bring about legislation to deny marriage rights to gay Americans (among other anti-gay causes they espouse).
2. Every adult except gay Americans can marry the person of their choosing and enjoy a whole bunch of rights.
3. If you don't think gay Americans should be able to marry whom they choose and enjoy those rights, is it not because you think they're not entitled to them?
What am I getting wrong?
