...his FREAKIN' VOICE, that's what.

Everytime I listen to "The Rain Keeps Fallin' Down" from Elegies...Raging Queens, I have a nervous breakdown.

Oh, and I guess that Wild Party thing wasn't too bad, either :-P

I'm hard pressed to think of a more talented male vocalist on Broadway today. Like Jaily said, his "Rain Keeps Falling Down" provokes a genuine emotional reaction every time I hear it.

You're KIDDING?!?! Dear GOD...you have GOT to get Elegies for Angels, Punks, and Raging Queens. Not only does he sing the most touching song EVER (it's the song of a man remembering his friends in San Francisco who died of AIDS, and all he can think of when he thinks of SF is how gray it always is and how it's always raining), but Emily Skinner (MY WIFE!!) and Alice Ripley TEAR SH*T UP, yo!

He's on a great recording of Brownstone (which also features Rebecca Luker and Liz Callaway) that is really quite fantastic. 'Babies On the Brain' is a great, fun song.

Get it, but be careful when/where you listen to it. It's powerful stuff.

The first time I ever heard it, I was in my office in San Francisco, and by the time Emily was done with "My Brother Lived In San Francisco", I had to go for a walk to the Wharf becuase I was crying so hard I couldn't work.

I sw him first in White Christmas out here in SF in 2004 and then 2005. I'd only heard him on cast recordings before, and enjoyed him as well as anyone.

THEN...I heard him crooning "How Deep is the Ocean" at the Curran theater...and I was sold. What a velvet croon the man has! Another underrated performer in the theater community.
