Miss Pennywise, while you're in Paris you should stop off at Laduree and have a cannelle. They're absolutely delicious.

Quennelles may be my favorite food of all time, Dottie! I even tried to make them once, but they're not easy. The biggest problem was finding pike (which I couldn't do, so I used salmon instead.)

You have excellent taste! Thanks for the restaurant tip. I probably won't be eating in restaurants because I'm staying with friends and family. However, if the opportunity arises, I will say that I want to go to Laduree.

Now let's find a restaurant in the DC area that makes good Quennelles. (When I lived in Philadelphia, there was an excellent restaurant in Doylestown that served them. It was heavenly!)

Miss Pennywise, I made some cannelle a couple of months ago with the copper molds I purchased in Paris. Believe it or not, they came out pretty good, especially since it was the first time I made them.

The big indoor food market in Philadelphia has a bakery that makes cannelle. They were just as good as the ones I had in Paris. However, I have yet to find a place in DC that makes them.

It's so freaking hot here, DG. Heat + tourists = Next time, I'm taking the kids out of school and coming off-season.

There is a story about me, the French, cannelle and the infamous sweet potato pie. But I won't elaborate here. Cannelle is cinnamon. The French hate cinnamon. ("You must be thinking of the Swiss," they told me, "The Swiss like cinammon, but we don't."

Quennelles are the most splendid, delicately prepared poached freshwater fish ever transformed into an orgasmic experience for your palette. The first time I had them was in the restaurant in which they originated in Lyon. They had to pry me away from the table at the end of the meal. I wanted to eat nothing else ever again. I went on a Quest for Quennelles. And where did I find them? Doylestown, Pennsylvania.

Cannelle, on the other hand, I must admit to having grown to despise. I know it sounds snobby, but serve me a cappucino with cinnamon on it and it gets sent back. It has become the bain of my taste buds.

I ask your forgiveness for this terrible faux pas of mine. I may have forgotten how to spell Quennelles, but I shant ever forget how to eat them.

And we all know that's what really matters.

Miss Pennywise, is cannelle (cinnamon) and cannelle (the pastry) pronounced the same way?
