McCain is shoring up support with the Republican base on all these foreign affairs issues.
He keeps scoring points with phrase like "Senator Obama doesn't understand..."
Obama needs to take off his gloves and fight like a Clinton.

"Obama needs to take off his gloves and fight like a Clinton."
I know! This debate really makes me wish Hillary Clinton could be debating McCain.

The VP debates will be a slaughter, but that doesn't count for much, if some may recall our recent history with Vice President "Potatoe."
McCain is coming off more personable and calm now. Obama is coming off a little cocky and irritated.
For whatever that's worth. Some people only pay attention to the "attitude."
Neither one are making hugely strong points.

Obama's not being tough enough in this debate.

Posted: 9/26/08 at 10:02pmMcCain doesn't have to win this debate - he just can't afford to lose it. So far he's not, nor was he expected to. Obama is a reasoned, thoughtful speaker who has a tendency to be a teacher. To lecture his point rather than to drive it in with short statements. He's just not the best at debating.
A click for life.

"...didn't McCain need a big win tonight?"
Didn't AMERICANS need a big win tonight?

Posted: 9/26/08 at 10:04pmI'm shocked that anyone thinks Biden is going to slaughter Palin. I always think he is extremely off-putting, and that can really work agaisnt him. I'm watching Godzilla vs. Mothra. At this moment, Godzilla is winning!

Posted: 9/26/08 at 10:04pmI still think Obama will lead McCain in the polls but I really wish Obama could kill it tonight...just for my peace of mind....I'm still scarred by the 2004 election.

The audience meter looks like some sort of bizarre shooting gallery.
EDIT: And the candidates are "flat-lining" underneath.

Posted: 9/26/08 at 10:13pmThe meter seems to be telling me what I already assumed: Neither candidate is making much of an impact.
