I would say this is my favorite song in Hedwig, but I think whatever Hedwig song I'm listening to is my favorite song from Hedwig.

As much as I love Amanda Palmer, I think it would just be wrong for a girl to play Hedwig. The Emcee was one thing, but Hedwig is another.

Isn't Hedwig all about not being defined by gender. I think a woman could play Hedwig. Just because Sheedy blew, doesn't mean a woman can't play the role. There is a woman playing Hedwig in Buffalo right now who is getting raves.

That was my thought as well, Betty. Hedwig's journey involves the discovery that one can create their own identity that is neither woman or man.

I normally believe in casting out of the box but not in this case. Even if Sandra Bernhard hadn't reneged i don't think it would have worked.

Speaking only for the NY Hedwig "community" we used to debate this topic at length but always ended up going with the negative. However, I'm open to seeing a good female Hedwig!

That video is absolutely wonderful. I would love to see Amanda in any show... I wish I could've seen her in Cabaret. She's got so much talent
