The Official "Our Beloved Norn" Update Thread#1

Norn is in the hospital having his abcess drained. If that sounds awful to you, imagine how "Our Beloved Norn" feels!
Recovery is going to take some time, so there's really no telling right now when he's going to be released or when he'll be able to return to NYC. But we're fortunate he is getting such good care in the hospital he's in now. The docs may be cute at Mt. Sinai, but they weren't as vigilant as they should have been (in my opinion.)
I'm hoping he'll let me visit him for a few days. I'm going to bring tons of DVDs, books and CDs!!!
Norn, we all love you dearly and KNOW you're going to come through this!

Posted: 6/26/08 at 1:13amOh, and I'm going to try to post everyday with updates. But please feel free to add your well wishes because it means a lot to "Our Beloved Norn." (Maybe I'll just start calling him "OB" for short. It's kinda like "Opie"...who also lived in North Carolina!)

Lower the camera a little next time you snap a pic of your scar.
Get well soon!

It's because of your accomplishments that we care about your ailments! Well, that and because you're just an all-around great guy. Feel better, love.

You're not going to accomplish anything anymore if you let rogue body parts get the better of you. Get better, *then* continue accomplishing. And ditto what Calvin said. ^_^

The tricky part is post-operative blood clotting. It is a huge concern for anyone who has had surgery, but it's even more of an issue when there is family history of blood disorders. So they're watching Norn VERY closely. We can be grateful for that.
Message from the Barbie-lovin' Pennywise:
"I love you, Uncle Norn, and I hope you get better."
I think that sums it up rather nicely.

Posted: 6/26/08 at 3:30pmQuite true, Miss P. My dad has blood problems and had surgery last January, and they just found some bad clotting last week and put him through the treatment for it. Scary stuff! So it's good they're watching for it, and should they happen, the treatment's not too bad from what I understand.
