I just have the image of him as Bette Midler in Beaches when she's doing the singing telegram, being like "I hate my life"
He's probably happy to be doing it with Anthony, and for a short period of time - it's not like he's back indefinitely, you know?
You can order them, either on DVD or VHS, from www.sethsbroadwaychatterbox.com
It makes sense for him to do it now anyway, because he was already going to be in the city to record his third album, a fact that makes me very happy.
The thread is eating posts again.
Also, his second one is infinitely better than his first.
What is on the first? I only have the second, because I heard it was better (and it is awesome) as well as Anthony Rapp's. I'll be watching both right before I go to see them in Rent in August.
Oh, the Chatterbox. Sorry!
The first is Adam and Sherie Rene Scott, but Adam had been getting over a cold or something, so he's a bit... low-key. He's a lot more candid in the more recent one.
I love how open he is on the second one. And Seth teasing him about looking so young with his black hair was funny. They cover a lot in 45 minutes. It's defiantly worth getting.
I wish I'd been able to go to Adam's second. It's so much fun, even on video! I went to Raul's second and I had a blast.
It's fine to call me GG or GuitarGirl, whatever you prefer. :)
It seems like actually being there would be awesome, especially since you could get the experience on video after.
The room they do the interviews in is very small, which is great. A lot of them include performances, but I think Adam ran out of time and he couldn't sing because he would have been late for call.
Oh, the Podcast? I think the one where he talks about Adam crying is the ATW "Downstage Center" thing. Those are audio-only. Seth has (had?) a Sirius Satellite Radio show, which is separate from the Chatterbox; he did a great interview with Adam and Anthony before the movie came out. That's the one where they talk about the fan ficion, I believe. (My ability to store random facts comes in handy! Heh.) I don't think the Chatterbox interviews are available in audio-only form (unless someone goes in and personally records them, of course). I think we may have confused you... the interview you're talking about is different from his Chatterbox -- they're both great, though. The Chatterbox one is a lot lighter and sillier; the ATW interview skews pretty serious most of the time, I think. The thing they did together isn't an interview, unfortunately -- I wish! They've done a couple of benefits together.
Ok, this is kind of late, but I just wanted to give a welcome to passingthrough. Hello!!
I've heard the ATW Interview with Raul. Very interesting. Especially when he talked about how he got to Broadway.
I'm a bit confused about the whole crying bit, though. Was Raul crying, or was Adam crying?
No need to apologize! My memory has this like, freakish ability to categorize things and remember absurd detail, so no worries.
Yeah, that's the Sirius show I was talking about -- with all of them. I totally forgot, heh. But it's definitely the "there's no down low on Broadway" one! There was such an insane amount of press that it all kind of bleeds together!
I FREAKING LOVE the Raul ATW interview. It's so interesting. He tells this story about when the RENT OBC saw ttB, and he says something like that afterwards, Adam, who has since become a friend, held him and cried.
Yes, happy imagery. But in all seriousness, aww. (Since when did "aww" become serious? heh.)
That's nice. Tick, Tick...BOOM! is really touching (and so is that story).
I think I've heard the Sirius interview. Is that the one with almost all the cast, except Rosario? If I'm talking about the same one, it was very funny, especially the fan fiction part. I believe they sang "Seasons of Love" at the end, too.
I wish I had seen ttB. (Live.)
Me too. At first I heard the soundtrack (and loved Raul) and then found a video n the internet, but it would've been awesome to see live.
passingthrough- you can call me dancin, that's fine. And yes that is me in my avatar. I don't really like the picture though because I think it makes my legs look fat.
Damn, ladies, I had a bunch of catching up to do.
Never heard about the other interviews (besides the Chatterboxes). All of the Chatterbox proceeds go to BC/EFA right?
I've only seen Raul once live, passing, and he was truly amazing. Well twice, if you could Broadway Bee, but I was just staring up his nose the whole time, lol!
I don't think it was for charity, per day, just a special performance of Spelling Bee that they did, with Raul, Lea Salonga, and Brian Stokes Mitchell as guest spellers. Yes Raul punked out on the first word, but it was cute. I LOVED him and Barrett in the bleachers, they were hilarious!
All of the Chatterbox proceeds go to BC/EFA right?
Yup.
Yes, I've had the pleasure of seeing Raúl perform live many, many times. He... is wonderful. I consider myself very lucky!
The Bee thing was a special theme night at Spelling Bee -- they had Stokes, Raúl and Lea Salonga as their guest spellers. There was one audience member too, I think. It wasn't for charity, just a fun thing. Raúl f*cked up his first word, but they had to try really hard to get Stokes out. The jokes were WONDERFUL that night, heh.
passingthrough-unfortunately, I've never been able to see Raul live, but I would love to someday as he is very talented. Come to think of it, I've never seen Adam live either, but that will change (hopefully) in August.
well August will be the first time I see Adam live in a musical production, but I have been lucky to see 3 of his solo shows in the last year.
I would love to see him in one of his solo shows because I love his music (especially his new material with Larry Edoff), but I don't think anyone I know would be willing to go. That could change after this summer, since I'm going with my friends to Rent, and I've told them a lot about Adam and Anthony.
the show is actually very good, even from someone that doesn't know Adam. Buzz went with me to the first show, and he actually admitted to not having a bad time. He wasn't rushing to go again, but he said it wasn't bad, and he is like anti-broadway and all that comes with it, hehe!
