Stagedooring inside the theater? I actually want to know what they were waiting for.
Poor Anthony. :P
Going back a bit - Jenna, if you were referring to you didn't know there was a DVD of the Elton John Benefit (I can't see the missing posts) - BC/EFA were selling a copy for a while, but it is no longer available on their website. Chloe has mentioned the sale before and I went investigating.
If you weren't referring to that, please ignore my babbling! :)
I didn't know that the Elton John benefit was ever released on dvd. I wonder if it's available on ebay... Hmmm...
And the post eating begins...

Oh, they were inside the theater? lol, how much can we dissect a 2 minute youtube video, hehe.
I didn't know that was released to DVD either, but I guess it makes sense.
I looked for a while but never saw it available. But I have the worst luck with that stuff.
lol I was actually talking about the making of the west end production video that misschung had gotten the screencaps from. But thanks anyway I already have a..copy of that.
Yeah, it's not on ebay. But I found a couple of Elton John dvds that I don't have, so the search wasn't completely in vain. :)
oh hehe! Hey, by the way, are we still on for the 31st?
If you can still go, then yeah!
It seems like yesterday that we were arguing about how there was no way the rumors were true and now it's only a week away.

sweetdisaster - sorry, I think I posted my answer to you in one of the eaten posts, lol. The pictures are from a tv show that aired in London, not a dvd
I know! I remember that big blow up after Lexi found I think the LJ post. good times!
Yeah, I'll definitely go. We'll discuss specifics later this week and stuff. yay!!!
Oh, ok. I didn't know if it was just a DVD that you could buy on Amazon or something. I was wondering how I missed that, hah.

I remember Anthony saying that at his reading, I think I did the Scooby Doo "whaaaaaa....?" thing when he said it, lol.
I managed to get the EJ benefit on videotape. I'm pretty sure it was through BC/EFA, but I'm not positive. If you're looking for it, you might have more luck searching under videos rather than DVDs. I've never seen the London video - it's nice to know there are still a few things out there.

From misschung's screen caps, the London video looks interesting.
Cool. Thanks for the tip Chloe. I have a feeling that I'm going to spend all day at work tomorrow trying to track down that tape. :)
I can't BELIEVE it's nearly a week away. I've been wanting this for so long, but it was always one of those things you hold as sheer fantasy, convinced it will never actually happen. One of those hypothetical "how I'd love to see..." kinds of things. I haven't seen much since Company closed. Actually, only Gypsy. It's shaped up to be a summer of once-in-a-lifetime theatrical events, and I'm really glad to have something like this following on the heels of something as deeply affecting as was Company's run, for me.
if any of you track down that London show, let me know where please. I'd like to get a copy too.
... when did this thread become a bootleg trading forum?
I don't really care what you do, but just FYI, the mods DO check in on these long-running threads. You're not hidden and this is not a safe-haven, and that's one rule I promise you they STRICTLY enforce. If you want to keep talking about it, by all means, have your accounts suspended.

I'll be seeing Rent in just over two weeks. First row of mezz, which is good for Rapp and Pascal, as the elderly tend to look better from above and afar.
I'm so shamefully excited. I'm even excited for the opening week I won't be at, just to be regaled with the tales.
i thought they meant buying a copy from the production company or something. someone said it was from a west end production company.

lol! Well, I'm in orchestra right, so hopefully their grey hair and wrinkles won't distract me from the show
I feel like I'm still in shock that it's next week. When Anthony first mentioned it that time, I felt like it was SO far away. I have a feeling the whole Company thing distracted me and just took me by such surprise that I sort of forgot about it until very recently.
It seems as though BBC films of British productions are more common than the U.S. equivalent, but many never see public release, apparently. And still, that's so not the only bootleg-centric discussion that's been going on on here lately. Like I said, I'm not going to tell you all what to do and what not to do, because I really don't need to be jumped on for again for "policing," but some of you newer posters should know that it's not something the powers that be take lightly. Adam SAID that he wanted to people to bootleg his shows, and I STILL got into trouble or talking about recording his gigs here.
I miss Company. I feel like I'm experiencing some irrational anger. Or something.

I just looked in an old drawer of mine and to my surprise found my Aida book. I just opened up to the big, beautiful color picture of Adam and Heather.
Polly, these were the pictures where Adam is wearing those snap-off track pants. In the rehearsal with Elton John. I knew I'd seen them on him somewhere and it wasn't my imagination, lol.
