I should try watching that sober one of these days.
haha, I don't think I could watch those drunk, well at least not without some of you. Around here it'd just be me watching and drinking alone, and well that is never a good thing.
lol i hear ya there tink
i watched that clip & i never figured adam for a backpack kinda guy. dunno why, just always figured he'd have one of those messenger type bags
I think there was a picture during his Cabaret run of him with a messenger bag, though I might have imagined it.
you know i think you're right. *runs off to check*
i found 3.
one of these looks like its a backpack though. i guess i just never paid attention
He's kept that bag for a while. Those pics are from Aida and then the Forum show this past Feb.
It's one of those combo bags, where its part messanger and part backpack. Alot of people have those at my school, except most are pink or polka dotted, not blue

Yay for drunk viewings of the Chess rehearsal.
Tink, I'm so with you on that. I laugh out loud enough when I'm sober and watching that video - if I were wasted it would be out of control, heh.
We should all plan a drinking/bootleg party one of these days, lol
I'll wait till I'm 21 to join those reindeer games with you guys
There's a funny article in the NY Times today by Charles Isherwood. He notes that while most musicals based on popular '80s movies have tanked, Xanadu, based on a monumental flopola, is doing better. He makes the tongue-in-cheek suggestion that more musicals be based on horrendously bad movies from that era. One of his ideas is for an adaptation of the Streisand version of A Star Is Born, with Idina and Adam as the leads.
oh i wish i got the ny time now!

I saw that, Chloe. I wonder about Idina's "The Man That Got Away"
He shouldn't even make that suggestion, because someone will run with it, hehe. What's next, "Bosom Buddies: The Musical" ?
Maybe Adam and Raul can team up for that one!
Right, he points out he's obviously being facetious, but it seems anything and everything is seen by somebody as the basis for a musical. You can see that article online if you register (for free), but here's the relevant section:
‘A STAR IS BORN ’76: THE MUSICAL’
Andrew Lloyd Webber’s production company was once rumored to be mounting a stage version of the beloved 1954 “Star Is Born,” which starred Judy Garland and James Mason and featured songs by Harold Arlen and Ira Gershwin. Far more fruitful for pure kitsch purposes is the unbeloved, resplendently bad 1970s version that helped send Barbra Streisand’s movie career into an aesthetic swoon from which it never truly recovered.
I envision Idina Menzel in the lead role, center stage at the climax in a nimbus of light emphasizing the supersized faux-’fro that Ms. Streisand sported in the movie. (Remember, these were the Jon Peters years.) Ms. Menzel certainly has both the vocal chops and, as an alumna of “Rent,” the rock (or rock-ish) background to play Esther Hoffman, the pop rocker on the rise whose marriage to that star-on-the-skids John Norman Howard ends tempestuously and tragically.
Harder to cast, perhaps, would be the Howard role, played by Kris Kristofferson in the movie, looking vaguely nauseated throughout. Perhaps Ms. Menzel’s co-star in “Rent,” Adam Pascal, could be talked into growing a scraggly beard and grumbling his way through Mr. Kristofferson’s songs?
A metatheatrical twist could interpolate the backstage drama on the movie. Ms. Streisand’s megalomania had begun to spiral out of control by this point. She and Mr. Kristofferson reportedly loathed each other; hence, perhaps, his terminally disgusted look. Incidentally, Joan Didion and John Gregory Dunne shared screenplay credit. Would Ms. Didion be interested in another crack at Broadway, refashioning her work for a stage sendup? I rather doubt it.

Here's some old school Adam pics to feed our habit, lol
Almost all of those are unfamiliar to me, so thanks very much, misschung.
I don't know how Isherwood feels about Adam, but I don't think his "grumbling" is necessarily a criticism but more like a description of how Kristofferson sang in the movie.
ETA: Am I right in thinking those are from London?

Yeah, they are from the West End production of Rent. His hair looks almost exactly the same, from what I can judge by that video clip, heh
i hope you're right chloe. he's apt to have a bunch of rentheads looking for him otherwise lol
ok i was watching/listening to the broadway sings elton john concert & decided to pull some shots from it. In the end I went overboard. I pulled over 30 shots lol. At one point Adam starts bouncing around so I couldn't get a clear shot. If I'd kept those, i think i'd have gotten over 40.
I am so very sad lol. anyway, i'll start uploading them here in a minute and posting them. I won't post all of them unless you guys want me to. so if you want all 30 something, speak now :)
ok here's 6 of them. remember this is about 1/5 of what i took so if you want more, let me know :)
i have to say i LOVE the blue coat.
misschung-nice pictures! I've never scene those, either, so it's a nice surprise!
polly2-Love the pictures of Adam during Someone Saved My Life Tonight. That jacket is cool. :)
