Chloe you are a gem for finding that times article. I LOVE THAT PICTURE!!! (i sense a new avatar coming on)
ETA- couldn't help it, i stole it!
Heh, want to hear ridiciulous? When I saw the show last week, I kept having all of these moments where I was literally about to pinch myself -- I had to be like, "that's Adam! No. REALLY." And so, while being totally childishly entranced by the Roger shadow during Glory, I thought to myself, "hey, that's Adam's shadow!"
I love that picture from the Times -- that exchange is one of my favorite moments in the show... but it's hardly ever photographed.

I LOVE Christmas Bells, that is a great picture in the Times article - thanks for posting!
It was honestly the first time I realized that during Without You, Mark is sitting in a chair off to the side, just watching all the other couples. It speaks volumes about his character and I'd never even noticed before.
I agree. The first time I saw Rent way back when, my mom and I were sitting up there, and I remember Without You being probably the most powerful image from the show that stayed with me.
Those stagedoor pictures in the other thread are heaven - Adam looks hot chewing gum
Hey, all. The Times article was nice, thanks for posting.
I head to New York at 6 a.m. tomorrow. My seats are in the mezz, and I've yet to see the show from up there, but it sounds like it will be a different experience.
adam looks hot just breathing. anything else is icing on the cake
have a great time jlc! Let us know what you think!
Thanks, Tink, I definitely will.
Have any of you tried the lottery (dare I even ask)? I imagine it's quite crowded, with the pictures of the stagedoor scene. I was considering trying it, because I'm going to be in the city way before the show ever starts.
If you'll be around, it's worth a try; someone's got to win.
Good point, Em. I suppose I will at least scope out the scene and give it a shot.
There are a lot of people there, but I haven't heard of any hair pulling or getting trampled on at lottery, so you should be safe. People start getting there early, but as long as you are there before they start calling names you are fine.
The picture from the Times article is great! I might have to find an umbrella and go pick up a copy.
Emcee, I had a very similar experience the first night I went. At one point during the show I leaned over to the girl next to me who I had met all of 20 minutes earlier and said, "is any of this really happening?"
Have fun, jlc!
Haven't they been selling other available seats after lotto to those who haven't won?
My best friend from high school came with me, but she was sitting a few rows up from where I was with some other friends. She has been my partner in crime since the beginning -- we "discovered" Adam and Raul together, if you will. So, it was really right that we were experiencing this together. At intermission, I ran over and hugged her, and we were both just like, "my God, this isn't REAL." One woman looked at us like we were nuts, but mostly, we got really understanding looks from passers-by.

I heard that too. I wonder if they're doing that every day or if it's sporadic, though.
That's amazing Emcee. I have a similiar partner n'crime type friendship with 5 other girls my age. We've been buddies since we were about 2 years old (same day-care system, gotta love it ) and it's truly magical to share expierences (sp?) like that together. It's sad to think that in nearly two years my friends and I will unfortunately be going off to other colleges/areas; and that we may never be the same buddies again. But having something like RENT (for your case) and sharing memories like that is a true bonding moment, and it's something that you will both share forever. Pretty nifty huh?
AW! Love the Times article, and picture of course.
And I still can't get over how, um, warm Adam looks in Tink's avatar. *sigh*
I went with two of my best friends on Tues who had never seen the show, but it was just great to experience their first time with them. And for them to understand and see why I have such a strong passion for this show, the actors, and theater itself. Of course next time I see it with Buzz which should be interesting and probably not as umm emotionally vesting as the last visits, lol.
I love that picture from the Times!
buzz would never forgive you if you were as... effusive, shall we say, as the last couple times you say it
MYB: I thought it was more of a shiny T-zone to me
He could probably use some of these for future reference:
In his defense, it was probably the hottest day NYC has had that Wednesday, lol.
That is correct Polly. nah, actually he is coming around a TINY bit to the AP appreciation. Even though he scoffed when I showed him the pic in the Maiden shirt. He said it was a step in the right direction, but it wasn't a tour shirt so therefore not enough to convince him.
I have a similar friendship with two friends, and we've seen Rent before together (in March) and it was awesome. We're going together again to see Rent in about 2 weeks, and hopefully the experience will be 10 times that.
he's a guy. he'd never use those. but then again... *thinks about the pants* ya never know
Adam might be the new poster-boy for those, just because. :P
brina, we've lived six hours apart for the past four years (because we went to college on like, opposite ends of the state), and friendships do change because of such circumstances, but the nice thing is that we'll always have our shared past experiences to keep bonds tight. We used to see shows together all the time, but now not as often. We saw Company together, and then Rent with Adam and Anthony, which was perfect because it felt like no time had gone by at all.
