He had a brief nude scene (moment, really) during a doctor's examination scene in The Normal Heart.
Hi, Rach!
ETA: Em, I was gonna post the Hair "sex flush" picture as a present, but I don't have it anymore.

The Normal Heart is amazing, I should read it again.
Hi, Ashley!
I think people always tend to romanticize a love story, even if it's one like Brokeback in which you can really only romanticize the what ifs and the few moments that they were together on screen. After I saw it for the first time, I cried for like two hours when I got home.
Raul's getting naked in that play was more like a nude blip. Not even a scene. Incredibly tastefully done and very powerful. Just right, which, theatrically speaking, was wonderful to see since so much nudity appears on stage for the wrong reasons. That play means the world to me.
Ash, lemme find it.
The love story in that play just kills me, and I love the moments that Ned and Felix have together, but you're right... what makes you cry are the "what if"s and the frustration with everything that could've been different if someone had listened. It's truly tragic to look back on that period now, and the love story is a really human example of that.
On a lighter note:
BBM didn't have that much of an effect on me, but at the end with the shirts did make me cry!
Right; everything that could have been is what breaks your heart. It's definitely a dramatic device, but it's not really far from what we see in our own lives. I think that's why it breaks your heart. I mean, I'm going through something like that right now, and it's one of many things that makes Brokeback difficult to watch.
Breaking in on the serious conversation with something a little lighter - Adam on the Rosie O'Donnell Show. And yes, he is wearing the overalls.
Awwww, the overalls.
Lol, Love it!!! I wonder if still keeps a pair in the back of his closet!
Sometimes, I honestly wish they were still acceptable fashion.
The issue I had with Brokeback was that I felt it was hyped up for the wrong reasons. It was made out to be this huge spectacle, and it wasn't. While I enjoyed it, the person I went with thought it was practically an advocacy ad for homosexuality. Everyone takes things differently, I guess.
I'm curious- who did you decide should play who?
That's why I was really glad for the limited early NYC release, since because of that I could see it before the hype was so big that it'd be impossible for the film to live up. If I had seen it well into the whole craze, I probably would've been disappointed.
The hats in the picture are coded; Adam's Ennis and Raúl's Jack.
The second picture is very pretty.
I think that's really true about expecting the movie to be practically gay advocacy in itself, when in reality it was a pretty quietly tragic love story.

He looks so young.
Emcee, I think Jenna was wondering how you decided Adam would be Ennis and Raul would be Jack. I'm kind of curious myself, because although the character of Roger is certainly angsty, I don't think of Adam as particularly angsty as a person.
Yeah, interesting question.
I wanted to say hi to JL. Since I haven't seen it I can't respond to your post about Mary Poppins, except to say it's wonderful to see anything that can lift you up like that. Here's a couple more -
Oh, oops. I misread. Yeah, I think it was because I thought he'd be better at that quiet angst, since it's vaguely similar to Roger. Raúl reminds me the tiniest bit of Jake Gyllenhaal, but it was on the whole much easier to match him up. Between the two of them, he was definitely Jack. I dunno, just seemed right.
Adam is going to read this and say "hun, my love thread has taken yet another disturbing turn!" lol
I really am digging the hair in those pictures!

Understandable. I think that one could make a case either way.
I've been working on this paper for hours. It's a take-home test, so I'm trying to do a great job on it, but it's filled with all these vague concepts (thank you, sociology). I'm way over the word limit, too.
Also, there's a video of Manley Pope on the same site singing the same song on Jenny Jones that is HYSTERICAL. Can someone PLEASE tell me who he blew to get the job as Roger?

Take home essay exams are exhausting. Good luck!

I feel like I have a vague idea of what a lot of these terms and concepts are, but since our lectures are so general, I keep having to reread the dense source material for help... and I'm lazy and dislike the subject. I have until Thursday to do this, but I don't want to put it off.
I did mean who, but your reasoning behind it makes sense and was pretty much what I figured. I missed the whole hat thing.
He looks a little bit like he rolled out of bed yet still pulls it off really well.
Oh God, I'm loving those overall pics.
I'm kind of in the same boat as you Lexi. I've been working on this paper all day and I only have 5 pages done. It's supposed to be a total of 10 pages and I'm just about killing myself trying to come up with other things to say because I think I've already said everything.
