Inexplicably, I liked Adam's Emcee hair. I wouldn't have advocated for him to make it a permanent look, but my enthusiasm for that performance extended to the aesthetics.
Off topic is this thread's middle name, so don't worry.
I wish I could have seen the Emcee hair in person. I have a feeling I haven't gotten the full effect.
Amazing, but I've always preferred his hair dark to blonde. I like my men with dark hair.
new myspace bulletin posted by Adam's peeps
What is it? I'm not on myspace.

I was actually a bigger fan of the nail polish than the hair for the Emcee part :)
his entire performance in Cabaret was such a hoot. I loved his spazzy dancing with the doc martin boots and white shorts and tee shirt. The only thing that bothered me about Adam in Cabaret was that I felt like his voice was still a little too rock and roll sounding in some parts - like for "I Dont Care Much" (I think thats the name of the song?)
There was a review somewhere that said he was a little bit too Rocky Horror, but other than that, it was a really positive review... if I remember correctly.
I was honestly really impressed, especially considering that he only had half the rehearsal time every other actor who played the role in that production got.
Thanks, Tink. It looks like Adam has switched bookers for this tour.
I didn't know Adam got reviewed for Cabaret. Glad it was a good one.
It wasn't so much a review as a blurb. But since the show was closing, it was one of those "hey, catch this before it's gone!" blurbs for which the writer had gone to check out the new cast. I think it was in New York or The New Yorker... or one of those. It was like two paragraphs.
I just hope that if they are going the all college route, the colleges open it to non students as well. I'd hate to see him finally go to some places, and fans still can't see him if it is students only! Did that make sense? lol
No, that makes complete sense. It would certainly be frustrating for some fan out in Dubuque to have him playing nearby and not be able to go.
I'm almost positive what you're talking about was in the New Yorker, Emcee. I think I cut out the excerpt and taped it somewhere. I was glad that what I thought was such an excellent performance was validated in the New Yorker, if briefly.
As I recall, his performance didn't seem exaggerated - he really exploded on the high notes during "I Don't Care Much," but not in a way that gravitated towards a Rocky Horror-esque delivery.
Maybe Adam will come to MN this time around. Minneapolis/St. Paul is reputed to be quite a center of music and theater culture.
I'm crossing my fingers he'll come here too Ariella Just a little shout out to a fellow Minne-snow-tan.
Send his peeps an e-mail and tell them! :)
Yeah, I saw it like... in a doctor's office.
Hehehe Peeps are yummy
A while back I sent an email to the 'off broadway booking' regarding info on how to book someone, ect. but they never sent me an email back. Maybe this guy will be of service...
Oooh Emcee, I'm almost done with my Raul speech! I've been so busy with my other classes that english is easily brushed aside. Don't worry though, I'll send it to you once I'm finished!
I always found peeps pretty revolting. When I was like 6 I got asked to leave a grocery store because I was pushing in the heads of the peeps through the boxes.
My grandmother used to buy a bunch for my brother and I. We would clear the dining room table and set up the troops. We would then act out a peep war battle for her. Good times!
My grandmother was awesome!!!
Oooh colorful peeps.
Hehehehe way to rebel Ariella!
Sigh, I love making mix tapes of random showtunes for my friends. I've currently got them interested in Side Show and Company, so that makes me super happy.
I'm glad I'm not the only person who hates peeps. People always give you funny looks when you say that.
If you look at the new booking website, it mostly talks about the "broadway show". It's good to hear that's still happening. Hopefully that'll come to New York, too.
I hate Peeps too! It's basically sugar in solid form. I don't like the texture. I randomly remember an episode of Malcolm in the Middle when the oldest brother ate an insane amount of Peeps & he kept throwing them back up or something. It was pretty gross.

I didnt think it was really Rocky Horror-esque, and I thought he did a great job considering the lack of rehearsal time, but it was just a different Emcee than I was used to. Thats not necessarily a bad thing, just thinking out loud.
the people I know who like Peeps not only like them, but they open the package and wait until they get stale before eating them. how gross is that?
brina - I LOVE your avatar
Ain't it nifty? I found it while me and my friends randomly googled The Little Mermaid one time, I felt it was a good time to bring it out.
