Apparently in the March Dennis town Bulletin there was a small blurb about the movie and an open casting call for extras. Nothing new, really, but it named the lover's character as Theodore Gibbs. It described the disco scene as "full of bell bottoms and feathered hair." I'm excited.

Oh my God, his name is Theodore? (Adam's character's name in School of Rock was Theo, and I thought that was bad!) I mean, I guess we're assuming he could be the lover?
I'm excited, too.
She only has one as far as I know, for her cookbook.

Theodore Gibbs? That sounds so wholesome - like something from Our Town.
thanks for blog info. hope you are all enjoying this beautiful weather. I am wearing my old navy beater in honor of Adam, because it's finally warm enough!

But how can Adam have feathered hair with that buzz cut?
I actually like the buzz a lot.
I hope we'll be seeing pictures from this new production soon. I'm really excited for him!
The lover character is described as the father's business partner and is probably in the closet too, so I would think he'd have a fairly conservative appearance. I wouldn't mind if Adam's hair just grew out a little -
Wouldn't it be interesting if after all this speculation (ala NFL Dad *cough*), Adam turned out to be playing some random character with 3 lines that had nothing to do with the gay sex?
If by "interesting," you mean SAD.

Chloe, where are you finding the information on the characters?
I think just by the order in which the Variety cast was listed, Adam has to have a pretty decently-sized part. So, unless there's another sizable role in the movie for a mid-30s male...
It might have been on a page with some casting information. It only included a few of the teenagers rather than the whole cast, and that little bit about the lover character is literally the only thing I remember.
We are getting a little ahead ourselves, but not too outside the realm of probability. Since this film is described as an ensemble piece centered around the daughters, I do think it's likely that Adam doesn't have a huge part, but if it's what we're guessing, a very interesting one.
I was looking at the site for one of the supporting cast members earlier that said they were filming American Primitive with Tate Donovan and Adam Pascal, so I'd assume it's a lead role. But that's all based on assumption.
I just looked at that link Lexi posted yesterday. Wow. I don't even know if I'd want to see that scene played out that way on screen. The little rhyme in production stills was cute, too (which shows "Theo" climbing out the window naked).

Why the hell is everyone in those sketches naked? I'm not complaining, just asking. Wasn't Adam all "I will NOT take off all of my clothes!" for Aida?
Also, Jenna, I think you should force your parents to spy a bit on the production.
At first I thought those stills showed like 5 guys running around naked, but then I realized it was the same guy running through the shot.
I don't know if my parents will be going up at all in the next few weeks, but Mom said I've crossed the line already by having her look through the town bulletins. I told her to keep an eye out.

Oh, I thought your parents actually were residing in Cape Cod right now. I wouldn't expect them to make a special trip for this, no, although if they are going to be there, maybe they could apply to be extras at the disco club.
Haha, no, it's just a summer house. I think I'll need to go wash out my mind from the mental image of my parents you just put in my head!

skittles - what was the NFL dad thing about?
Did Adam really say that about Aida? I'm suprised the role would have called for more nudity, considering its Disney.
According to Adam, originally he was supposed to take off everything at the end of Elaborate Lives, but his reaction was along the lines of "now wait a minute here."
NFL Dad was listed on IMDb for a while as a Chris Columbus film that Adam was in. It's since disappeared, like so many movie ideas.

If I remember correctly, I think the nudity was cut because Disney became involved with the project and/or Adam became involved as well. I don't remember the exact quote, but I think he expressed some sort of reluctance about doing full nudity, yeah.

That's interesting about the nudity being cut after Disney/Adam's involvement. It's weird that they originally wanted that much, but maybe at the time the script was a little different and had less of the "silly" parts and was geared towards a more mature audience - who knows.
It will be interesting to see what comes of this project, though
Hah, maybe Adam's rewriting his values slightly, though admittedly nudity in front of a live audience is different than the more artificial setting in front of a camera.
Elaborate Lives would have taken on a different attitude had that plan gone through, and it seems somewhat incongrous given the context of the show - but who knows. I'm sure no one would have minded.
Was it an issue of being opposed to (or uncomfortable with) nudity by principle, or like... Adam thinking he wasn't in shape enough to take everything off?
Just to be clear, Disney was involved with Aida from the beginning, and I imagine the nudity was going to be on a very dimly lit stage. From what I understand, the show was actually more campy to begin with, and got a little more serious in the reworked version after its original Atlanta run in which Adam didn't take part.
Why can't they film anything fun near my beach house? All we got were a bunch of reporters covering a hurricane.
NFL Dad was a movie that was randomly attributed to Adam and there was much discussion about the possibility of him doing it, as well as whether it was realistic to assume an IMDB post was accurate. Finally someone asked Adam about it in an interview and he had no idea what it was, so that kind of ended the rumors. There was also that Ashton Kutcher movie where everyone jumped the gun at making assumptions about as well. Variety is a much more reliable source than the obscure sites those leads showed up on, but I still think it's a bit early to make assumptions about how his hairstyle will fit his character.
