re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Glad you both had a good time last night! I think there's some truth to your Nederlander bug theory. I woke up with a killer sore throat and fever the morning after I saw the show and barely got out of bed for three days.

I think they need to disinfect the theater! Either that, or figure out a good temperature to keep the place. First act I froze, second act I was sweating. That's probably why so many people have been sick.

Row L orchestra -- aisle of the side section. They were really good seats, and I was a happy camper. My brother saw the show for the first time last summer, and I really didn't expect him to go for it, but he loves it. Afterwards, he told me that he thinks more people should see the show because it has such great messages, and I was sort of like ".... am I talking to the same kid who used to beat me up once a day?" It made me really happy, though. I make fun of him and complain about what a loser he is all the time, but he really is a good kid.

I would be completely incapable of ever having a conversation with him because he makes me nervous. :)

It's okay, I literally hung up on orangeskittles when I saw Adam. re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13! And better, I know she understood. re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Of course. It's the official Adam Pascal Clause- how could you hold a grudge when you know you'd react the same way? re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I think it's pretty rare for an actor to want to take the time to have a conversation with you and look you in the eye. And ironically, this is the reason why I used to find Adam as intimidating as hell.

Not that I've had the chance to really talk to him, but in the quick two minute conversation I had, I think I got about 3 words out. Then he made fun of me for calling be by his first name. Then I ran away.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Just for the record, he was totally looking over my shoulder as I was texting you that I was sorry. We were talking, and then someone else needed his attention for a second. It was that weird moment where you don't know if you're supposed to wait or just wander off, so I pulled out the old "see? I'm busy! PHONE!" defense-against-awkward mechanism... but then it was quiet and he was looking right at me. Oops.

I meant to ask him how the album was coming or something, but save for the compliments, everything I meant to say flew right out of my head.

Wait, Jenna, he made fun of you? I don't think I've heard this story! re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I haven't sat close enough to make eye contact with Adam in a while, but I sat third row at AIDA once, and it scared the crap out of me. I don't know why. I'm not as easily intimidated now, though, and more willing to have fun with it.

From everything I can tell, Adam is quite a warm person, but he does have a very intimidating aura too.

I found this picture on the American Primitive site "about the film" page. Maybe it's been up there all along, but I don't remember it.

Those sideburns kill me. Thanks for the picture, Chloe!

I feel that it's also necessary to add that my night ended by being hit on by a guy on the train ride home. For half an hour. He tried to get my number about 7 separate times, and he really wasn't taking the hint although I told him I have a boyfriend. I think he said his name was something that sounded very similar to Beyonce. This is what I get for stopping in the subway station to take a picture of the ad for the return and missing my original train.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Really? I feel like I've told it a bunch of times on here. Maybe I just left out the embarassing parts. Ok..long story short.

I'm sitting around waiting because I had ordered my tickets over the phone and didn't know where to pick them up. I had seen Larry walk out the main set of doors and go down this flight of stairs, so I was kinda watching to see if they would come up. I was on the phone with my best friend and Adam walked up the stairs. The friend I was with was all "that's not him." And these other girls literally jumped on him and started flashing cameras. So I (being extremely shy) go over and asked for a quick picture. My camera won't work and starts taking these short videos. He told me that "it'd be a boring movie" and to go fix my camera and he'd get to me. By the time the girls had finished their pictures and left, he came up to me and my friend, started making small talk about where we'd come from and if it was our first time seeing the show. I just sort of stood there nodding like an idiot and stuttering. I just kept saying "I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Adam." Then he kinda pulled me into him and said "Oh, I didn't know we were on a first name basis already." I think he saw how mortified I looked and laughed "no, sweetheart, im kidding. Hope you guys like the show". He said a quick goodbye, and I literally ran out of the auditorium lobby. I immediately called my mom and she asked me if I was on speed.

Ok..so not so short. re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Heh, LuckyStar! You said you take the train into New Haven right? I do, too. Once on the way home from an Adam concert, it was like 3 am, and a lesbian kept trying to hit on me.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

ahahahah sideburns.

It's funny, because I can run up to him like it's nothing, and then once I GET there, I'm like "whoa, wait, AHHH," and I get really nervous. When I get nervous, my brain just kind of clouds over and I can't think of anything to say, so I either trip over my words or get really quiet. There's just so much running through my head that I can't focus enough to hold a conversation. That doesn't happen as often anymore, thankfully! It was really great to see him last night.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

lol, Jenna, that's so cute. I made the jump from "hey you" to "Adam" over several years, but if the "hey you" stage had never been, I don't think I would have been able to call him "Mr. Pascal."

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I think a lot of that is getting older and realizing that actors are human. I always had this thing where I'd put them on this larger than life scale to the point where I literally couldn't form words around them.

lol, I feel like I'D laugh if I ever addressed him as Mr. Pascal.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

That's a cute story, Jenna. It reminds me of a stagedoor story posted elsewhere. Two fans were stuck up against the barricade, so spoke with Adam several times as he made the rounds. His last time around one of them asked if he had "just gotten a new tattoo," and he replied "Hmm, not within the five minutes since I saw you last."

Yes, exactly! It's unfittingly serious! I'm glad he's deemed it okay for me to call him by his first name. re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Heh, Chloe, that's funny.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Addressing them as Messrs. Pascal and Rapp on the main page made me laugh for some reason. I mean I know that's the correct way to do it, but it just struck me as funny

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Sweetdisaster- I do take the train into New Haven. I don't think I'll be making any more late night trips by myself, though. People get batty after midnight. That's what I get for missing my original train to go take a picture of the poster advertising The Return in the subway station. If you're ever in need of a train buddy, keep me in mind. I'm not a crazy weirdo, I promise. Your story was cute, at least you can look back and laugh.

misschung- it is correct, but it's just oddly formal for those two.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I like that story, Jenna. re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13! I can totally commiserate about technology failing just when it's most needed - my camera always screws up whenever I'm trying to get a picture with someone.

Somehow I always felt reasonably normal with calling Adam by his first name - formality just never seemed to suit. Raul, though - only recently have we made the jump from "Mr. Esparza."
#669

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Oh, yeah, -- "Mr. Esparza," to me, totally fits for Raúl. It was the same "hey you" to first name progression, but the idea of calling him Mr. Esparza doesn't like, make me laugh. And in the sense that calling someone by his or her last name is a sign of respect, it's weird, because I don't feel like it should come across as a lack of some degrees of respect -- as though I have less for Adam, or something. I think it's just more about personal comfort... and formality + Adam seems like an awkward combination. Like the way he looks awkward in suits.

I'm so tired. That's like the third time today I haven't made any sense.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Hah, don't worry about being coherent. I just reread some of the posts I made the past few days while heavily medicated.

LuckyStar- don't laugh! I will take you up on that if there's ever something in the city. I hate the Union Station parking garage at night just about more than anything on the planet.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

That's a cute story, sweetdisaster.

I don't know how I'd react around Adam. Probably in the same way-being quiet and nervous.
