re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Sweetdisaster- I'm totally down with being train buddies! Being in that parking garage alone makes me more nervous than anything else.

I'm not usually one to get nervous or freaked out by meeting people. The only time I really lost my cool was when my former neighbor insisted that we drunk dial Taylor Hanson. My neighbor's band had opened for them on tour, and when he found out I used to be a fan he deemed it necessary for us to call him. I was absolutely tongue tied, it was beyond embarrassing! Anthony is one of those people who I would love to sit down with and ask a million questions, but I think I would be happy to manage a hello with Adam.

Anthony's great. He's just got this certain kind of intensity to him where Adam is a little bit more... not necessarily easy-going or laid back, because Anthony is both of those things too, but I think Anthony has an intensity where Adam has that lovable goofiness. It's hard to talk about without sounding as though I'm ranking traits, but I'm not. They're both wonderful guys. re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I tried to explain that to someone the other day why Anthony intimidates me, but Adam doesn't. Adam, while sweet, isn't too smart. It takes a lot of time before he starts to recognize you as a longtime fan. But Anthony is smart. He remembers you very early on, especially if you've actually introduced herself to him. Every interaction with Adam is in the moment and if you say something stupid, he'll forget about it five minutes later, but with Anthony, I find myself remembering every stupid thing I've said to him and KNOW he remembers it all.

Yeah, but it's okay, because now that he does, every time I see him, I get a hug so big that I think I might crack a rib. Fair trade-off, I think. re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

But yeah, Anthony has an excellent memory. Especially considering that he meets so many people.

They're both amazing. It's awesome that you guys have met them. A bit funny about Adam's memory, but still awesome.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I didn't mean it in a bad way. :-P But just that it gives every interaction with Anthony a bit more weight, whereas with Adam, you don't have to worry about him connecting you with the girl that wore an "I <3 Adam Pascal" t-shirt years before. re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Well, to be fair, most people in their situation don't remember nearly as much as Anthony does. But he has a reputation for being wonderfully accomodating and attentive with fans. re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Oh, and for the record, I found my t-shirt recently. Shut up. re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13! But yeah, I'm pretty sure he's either forgiven me for my idiocy, forgotten it was me, or just blocked it out.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I was at the show tonight. It was a very good performance, with Kelly on again as Maureen, and Adam's voice back almost to where it was at the beginning. Something rather sad and frightening happened before the show started though. The elderly man sitting next to me had what was probably a heart attack. I heard his wife calling out his name and sounding very upset, and turned to see that he was breathing very raggedly, with his eyes rolled back. There were some medical people nearby in the audience who started giving him CPR in the aisle of the mezz, then various police and paramedics arrived. They continued the CPR and also did the electric shocks a couple of times. Eventually he was carried out on a stretcher. I have no idea what shape he was in, but I feel terrible for that couple, who were apparently here on vacation.

It was strange to see a real life brush with mortality before a performance of the mortality-laden Rent. I wasn't sure how much I'd be able to get into it, but once it started I was okay. Even though this event seemed to last a long time, I believe the performance was only delayed five or ten minutes.

I was there with a friend who had never seen the show. He loved it, and talked about how there was so much going on he could understand people wanting to see it several times in order to take everything in. He needed to get home as he has work tomorrow, so I didn't stick around to see how the new stagedoor arrangement played out, but there were tons of people in front of the theater as we walked out.

Wow, that's so scary. I hope he'll be alright.

Glad you saw Kelly, though -- of the people I've seen play Maureen, she's my favorite.

It was pretty upsetting, and he didn't look in very good shape as he was being carried out. I felt really bad for his wife, who was crying and shaking. A policeman eventually took her out a side exit.

I did enjoy Kelly a lot. She seems to bring more warmth to the character which favorably affected the overall balance of the show.

I'm going to sleep soon, DG. I'm actually exhausted, but at that stage of being too tired to actually get up and get ready for bed. Oh, the predicament... re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I agree. It's easy for Maureen to get on your nerves, I think, but what I like about Kelly is that her Maureen is warm and sweet. She's very cute, and definitely likeable. I wish she'd play the role full-time again.

thanks

hello everyone. i just want to thank everyone for the amazing support during my return to rent. the enthusiasum and response has been more than anthony and i could have hoped for. i know the line outside the stage door is crazy, quite frankly im overwhelmed by it. its very impersonal and i dont even get to look most people in the eye. id prefer it not be like that, but thats the way it is. sorry. please, if you come to the stage door, just know its going to be a very quick impersonal exchange. there are just too many people.
again, thanks for making this an unforgettable experience!!!

much love
adam

Aww.

Heh, I left him a comment recently. It's a little weird to know he probably actually read it.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I've been tempted to comment, but I never end up doing it.

That's a sweet blog that he wrote; it's nice that he's acknowledging the less than personal stagedoor interactions. Hopefully people realize that it's not their fault. It's probably so hard for them, especially since they didn't expect it at all.

Neither of them have posted about their extension yet

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I don't do it often, but he really went out of his way for me on Monday, so I wanted to say something -- but I feel bad just being part of the inundation surely placed upon his inbox.

It's a tough situation because while they wish they could interact with the fans on a more personal level, I'm sure they also realize how great it is that they HAVE so many fans -- a big stage door crowd is a good thing, even though it has such downsides. It's a bummer that it has to be that way, though.

Very sweet blog, however I want to know what the man was doing up at 6 AM when he posted that blog... : P

It tempts me as well, but I'm not sure I really want, or need one. It might end up being too time consuming.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I had one with my old computer, and honestly I'm glad I got rid of it. It was a real waste of time for me, and no matter how many privacy settings I put up I still felt very uncomfortable having one. But c'est la vie, I can get updates here.
