re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I was actually glad when he started bringing that note in Glory down because now he's singing it as written. The riff is beautiful, but I love sitting in the theater and hearing something that sounds exactly like what I've been listening to on the album for all these years. For me, one of the most thrilling things is to sit in the theater and watch the show while hearing things as they sound on the CD. It's weird because usually when I see it, there's someone else on stage and someone else's voice, but I still HEAR the recording in my mind. But now that's not the case because it's actually Adam and Anthony there.

I'm glad you had fun Siamese, and I can't believe I missed a shoe discussion...rats! (work sucks what can I say? re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!)

So I could totally see him being a ladies man in high school; probably stealing all the popular chicks from the jocks and wooing them with his guitar re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

It's pretty, and I love it, but I just feel like... I've heard him do THAT so many times that it's also thrilling to hear something different live now, too. But I'm also just... enormously taken with the whole "then and now" idea of it all.

But yeah. re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I loved hearing his version of Glory last night because, like emcee said, it sounded exactly like a) the obc recording version and b) it reminds me of that moment in the movie when he hits that note and the camera does that gorgeous long shot of the nyc rooftops.

That other higher note at Rent 10 though, was incredible. It must have been even more so live. And at that moment it seemed completely spontaneous too, which I'm guessing made it even more special.

Cute story from IMDB. I could so picture Adam being that way in high school. Hasn't he said that he was cooler than Idina in hs, or that she was cooler than he was? Or something along those lines? It's in some interview, but I don't remember which one off the top of my head.

I remember that MC, I think he was the cooler one and she was the nerd. At least that would make more sense to me re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

On Tuesday he sang the higher version, and that was about the only place he had a little trouble, so maybe that's why he dropped it tonight. I wouldn't be surprised if it came back at some point. The Rent 10 version is incredible, I must say, but I don't mind hearing it as written either. What he brings to the song overall is more important than that one note.

Well, there's no arguing with that. I hope I didn't imply that the song was ruined because he skipped it tonight; I was just lamenting the (temporary?) loss of it, is all. There isn't much to review on a general level anymore, so I find myself picking out bits and pieces to post.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

When I saw the show late last week, he started to sing it up, and then seemed to either realize that it was wrong or he couldn't handle it, so he brought it down... but he cracked and hit a few snags as he was coming down. He was out the following night, though, so it all made sense.

I knew what you meant. That one note in Glory is one of my favorite parts in the score, though - it always has been. Hearing Adam sing it again is such a treat

Did Anthony moo during OTM tonight? He did last night, lol.

No, I realize you didn't mean that, Lexi, but in thinking about it I realized I've been so mesmerized by his line by line interpretation that his singing that higher note has been icing on the cake.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Either way, hearing him sing that song live is pretty incredible. I was expecting the higher note on Monday, but I was kind of happy he didn't go for it simply because I had never heard him sing Glory live without hitting the higher note. I get the chills either way.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

hi, just running through.

not to derail the discussion, but a couple pages back someone asked where Idina and Jesse were in the picture. I don't know about Jesse but Idina is standing behind Taye. If you look close you can see just a little bit of her.

Now that I think about it was Jesse even there for that?

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Ohhhh. I saw some other pictures from that day that implied that Jesse was back signing things for fans, instead of making an idiot of himself at the front of the stage.

Also, Tracie? Totally not acting, there. That's genuine, she'd totally fit in at the current stage door.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I'll catch up with this thread later, but I somehow ended up with amazing seats tonight (almost ruined by the 25 year old girls behind me who so kindly informed me that Adam is recently divorced and back on the market. Yup, sounds about right.)

ETA: Yeah, Lexi. I didn't stay for the stage door either. I'd been walking around aimlessly all afternoon and just wanted my bed. I seem to be liking Light My Candle more and more each show I see, and that used to be one of the songs I'd just skip over. I actually think I want to wait a while before seeing it again, though.

Poor you. Did you bother correcting them or just let them be?

Agreed on the waiting a while before seeing it again. Sorry that we missed each other.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Heh, after the first time, I had been content to wait. But now that I went Thursday/Monday, I'm REALLY antsy. It was so good last time that I'm just like, "I WANT TO GO AGAIN NOW." It's a familiar feeling... re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Also, I'm SO glad Adam is available! He should have shared that with me when I saw him, though. Obviously.

Oy.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

lol, yeah, I pretty much ignored them.

I don't know if I was just tired, if the people around me were just pissing me off, or if it was the cast, but I just couldn't get into the show as much last night. I still really enjoyed it, they sounded great, but I couldn't get lost in it like I usually do. After last week, I really had to go again. Now I think I'll see it once and then maybe last night. I got third row center seats and was literally right infront of Adam during SOL. I was afraid to look up.

I didn't sleep. Sorry if that makes no sense.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

The girls behind me on Thursday were reading the playbill, and they were like
"Adam's married? He has two kids????"
then, reading "It says 'Anthony lives in NYC with his partner...' He's gay???"

Someone else was complaining about Tamyra's hair. They were like "why would you pull glitter out of your boobs. Where's the big afro? You NEED the big hair..!!"

I want to see it again too, but I don't know when I'm going next.
