Because after the lotto, they discount whatever is left for the people who didn't win. Some seats are $45, some $55, some $60.

Oh i agree, jenna, i don't know if it would make that much of a difference, but it couldn't hurt. The only bad publicity is NO publicity.

But while other kids are back in school, college kids are back in NYC that were home for the summer, and they have free time during days/weekends. So maybe that will help out a little.

When random people ask me about why I am so excited to see the show, I say because two of the original leads are back. They generally say "oh that sounds nice, but who are they". i would then say the two leads in the movie, and they go "oh wow, the movie guys, that's cool!" and finally get somewhat intrigued, lol.

oh I didn't know that they did that with the lotto tickets.

Yeah, since so many people seem to be familiar with the movie, the publicity wouldn't hurt

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Most people hadn't even seen the movie, they just here "movie leads" and all of a sudden relate them to celebrity, ahhhh society!

They could've advertised it a bit better. Maybe not the "Today Show", but more than they've been doing.

Well, film = celebrity.

I think I'm gonna try lotto this weekend. Even if the weekend is the worst possible time. Heh. Or maybe Monday, since some of the kids will be back in school.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

There were a lot of people who had no idea who they were on Monday night also. They probably could do a little bit more publicity, but like many of you said, I don't know if it really matters to people who aren't familiar with Broadway.

If I'm remembering correctly, don't they air Broadway on Broadway on TV? I think I'd rather watch it at home than try to fight to see anything the whole time.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I better watch out then! If/when Goyband is released, I am in the midst of several celebrities right now!!! re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13! hehehe I better go find stuff to be autographed.

People who don't know theater aren't going to care. And I think the powers that be know that. They'll reach the audience to whom this will matter and just capitalize the hell out of it. I don't think the fact that they're the original cast members will mean anything to people who aren't in the loop. When I was younger, I didn't give a sh!t who I saw in a show, because I didn't really get that status given to OBC members and all that.

I don't DO autographs. re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Yeah, that's how people are, tink. The girls behind me were wondering why Adam didn't mention the Rent movie in his blurb. It seems like a lot of people know them from the movie.

I don't know - when the movie came out, they did so many appearances. Maybe they don't want to do it again so soon? Who knows.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I think with this industry, it's hard, because you can have a great marketing idea, run with it, and have no response. Then you've spent all this money and time, and you're screwed.

IF I'm even in a shot of that movie, I pray for the audience. That was the day I realized I wasn't an actress.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

very valid points, but I just think it couldn't hurt. Even if it didn't drum up word of mouth from non broadway fans, then it would keep the current fans and tickets buyers entertained and give them (us) more to feed off of.

Em - unless Raul asks.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Well, I think the movie, even though it wasn't successful, reached a lot of new people. They could've focused on that more than the fact that they were the OBC.

Ah, we turn the tables... re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I so hope I'm not actually in the movie. I was miserably ill that day.

I was upset at first that I didn't go to the shoot, but in the end, I'm ok with it, lol. I've had 5 of my 15 seconds of fame already, I need to be more careful how I spend the other 10. Although seeing Adam dance that day may have been worth it!

Oh, I hope you can't see me either! Everyone was like jamming out and dancing. I don't think we were very convincing.

The things I do for you, Pascal...

You know, I've thought that on many occassions, and I still don't know the answer. Once I tried to figure out how much money I've spent doing Adam-related things and I stopped halfway through.

I think you're right. The thing is, do you think that it also might mean something to fans of the movie? And if so - do you think that fans of the movie were fans of the OBC and stage version, or new fans who were first exposed to Rent by the film? It might be a combination of both.

Sweetdisaster, who could have focused on that more? The publicists now, you mean?

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

buzz asked me the other day how much I have spent on broadway this year, and how much specifically on AP related stuff. I told him I didn't even want to know.

But in my defense, Adam is my anti-drug. All the money I saved from quitting smoking has financed my little "hobby". I could've done worse things with the money!

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Well, yeah, but to a lot of young movie fans, they're probably "the movie cast," not "the OBC." Even still, though, I think it's all bled into one fandom in that they all get their information from common sources. I don't think there are hardcore movie fans out there who who love it because Adam's a total hottie who don't know they're back on Broadway. I definitely think they've heard that now's their chance to see the movie stars live.

Heh, if I really think about it in terms of time and money and all that, it feels very silly. But I was saying this to someone the other day in a conversation about the fans who ask things like, "how did you do that?" Because the blunt reality is like, years of support and lots of cash. But in the end, the bottom line is that it has all been the greatest pleasure, you know?

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

Yeah, I don't think so either. Although a lot of the side seats were empty, but I have a feeling that's because it's partial view and you really can't see very much for certain parts of the show. Other than that, it's been packed.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 13!

I was curious about fall tour dates and found this on Larry Edoff's site:

TOUR DATES:
10.06.07 NACA Conference (promoting "Me and Larry" tour and CD), Lancaster PA
10.10.07 Southern Theatre, Columbus, OH
10.12.07 Toledo Arts Ctr., Toledo, OH
11.09.07 Blumenthal, Charlotte, NC

I'm truly hoping that they're not actually planning to name the new CD Me and Larry, although the phrasing sounds as if that might be the case. It's cute enough for the tour, but what an awful album title.

What date is the end date for the A&A return? Isn't it like the 6th or 7th?
