re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

Anything worthwhile in that music just gets lost in translation. However fake the hardkoreness was, flavors of atonement and ocean breezes win for pretention. Why does Adam want to imitate Larry's style?

Mid-life crisis. That's my theory. Larry is his version of an impractical sports car to overcompensate for his shortcomings.

You know, that car is almost preferable. At least it's inanimate, not capable of seducing Adam Pascal into the finer points of "epic" poetry.

Lawrence Edoff's album reminds me of everything my mom listened to while I was growing up. I can just hear some of it fitting on to Pure Moods 2. Not Pure Moods, though. The first one was boss. re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

I think about it and I envision a giant slab of milky quartz.

I am so lost in regards to what you are talking about, but it is amusing anyway!

I just hope Adam doesn't start taking himself so f*cking seriously, because I refuse to put up with pretentiousness from him.

Pretty soon he's gonna be off to Ghana to bond with the Ewe people, too.

You know, I don't even ask for him to play electric guitar. Just... percussion (not from the Ewe people, thanks), songs that aren't so faux dramatic, and not to have to listen to Larry whine (literally, because his voice is a droning whine) about global warming. Is that really so much to ask for?

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

I think we all want fake hardkore Adam back. I think that's been the basis of most of my Adam-related conversations lately. He's becoming such a dad. Maybe it's because he's almost...40.

My guess was the same, Lexi, but I suspect they think it has some deep meaning that only the most intellectual of musicians can understand.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

He can be almost 40, but he doesn't have to become lame, boring, and pretentious! re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2 I guess wanting the fake hardkoreness back is asking for pretentiousness in some capacity as well, but it's amusing pretension. Not adult contemporary for Scarsdale yuppies that want to be *~one with nature~*. Don't let him be your Yoko, Adam.

Not having heard that song I'm at a disadvantage here (one which I'm in no way suggesting anyone remedy), but one of my favorite musical Adams is the one who wrote Cellophane Sun and Every Time Around. I keep wishing for a couple of tunes in that vein, but it doesn't sound like they're coming on this CD.

I want to know when Adam and Larry are going to stage their Bed-in for peace. After all, all they are saying is give peace a chance. Once those two get matching eye glasses it's all over with.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

Oh my. I have no idea what to say about him, he definitely doesn't look like what I thought he would.

'Cause he looks like an overgrown slow child, right?

Sorry. That was truly awful of me. No, really, it was. But it's my gut reaction.

That's who's taking over Adam's music career, you guys.

Lucky, I was watching a documentary about the Bed-In when I first posted. I hope Larry and Adam hide out in Canada next. For the historical parallels, and so Sarah can see Larry for herself in his full glory.
