Here is Cheryl's review from the apm.com site. Glad to hear they picked a title for the album AND spruced the set list up:
i was lucky enough to get in for a meet and greet, so i had to pick up passes as soon as i got there. the theater was way small so even 10 rows back the seats were really good.
larry came out first and started playing at the piano and adam joined him on stage to thunderous applause. they played A TON of new stuff, so i apologize if the songs listed are not the correct titles.
they started off with a new song called "don't lie". really sounds awesome. almost APB/Mute like. i cannot wait for the new album in april! adam said the new album will be called Blinding Light. they then went into a song called "turn the lights on". on a whole, IMO the new album seems much harder than Civilian or MP.
adam announced that larry and his wife are expecting a baby and then proceeded to give advice to larry. he said he has two children, "f-ing brats" and wanted to impart some wisdom on them, some phrases he says to his children saying that larry may want to write them down, "what the f-k are you doing?", "no no no don't eat that, that's not food", "stop swinging that thing or you're gonna hit me in the nuts". gotta love it.
they then went into "see me shining"... "i wrote it for my wife when she wanted to kill me" and then the requisite "got me laid" at the end.
adam then did the usual broadway stuff, "maybe this time" and "maria". with the usual stories.
more new songs on the way.... "call your bluff". awesome song. a little softer than some of the other new ones.
someone got up and left and adam said "where are you going? what, you don't like latin music? racist! one day someone's going to punch me in the face" which was pretty funny.
"single drop of you" followed. i really did not love this song the first time i heard it but it definitly grew on me. adam then passed it over to larry and proceeded to make fun of him as he was stumbling talking about the song. larry then said "he does this to me all the time, he needs the attention." larry then played "will i drown"... much more guitar than in NC, and it sounds great.
adam asked how every one's new years eve was and someone asked how his was, he first replied "it sucked", then said "my wife made homemade chicken soup, got in bed early, put the kids in bed early, had sex and then watched janet dickenson modeling agency, it's a trainwreck." he then asked larry if he's seen it, and said "he doesn't even have a tv, he's a reader".
then played a new song called "a space in a blinding light". love the piano on this song. a love song, but not sappy. "just like i am" followed.
finished the set with "i'm with you". then came out and encored "glory". larry came back on and started the piano and those who knew what was coming started to get really excited. adam came out and the mic wouldn't work, so larry had to just keep playing. and then of course in true adam fashion, he forgot the words. finale encore song was "what i did for love".
the meet and greet was awesome. we all gathered in the gym of the building and waited for adam. he came in a side door with larry and larry's wife and quickly went over and hugged his mom and dad. a total "awwwww" moment. he greeted everyone and thanked them for the donations and then joked about their being peanut cookies for everyone. he then said "i'm here for you so if you want an autograph or a picture, come on over". that's when the mad dash began. we all lined up i was 3rd. got to talk to him a bit and had a picture taken. he was really really really sweet. talked to larry for a while to, to congratulate him on his impending fatherhood. didn't get to talk to larry much in NC, and he's an awesome person.
BroadwayBoobs: I'll give all of you who weren't there a hint of who took the pictures ...it rhymes with shameless
SOMMS: I knew it was Tink!
