Let's hope there aren't any major glicks in the recording process for this. I'd prefer to see it come out around Christmas vs. next summer you know?

I doubt it. They could be dealing with follow-up stuff that doesn't require him being in NYC, like waiting for the CD to be mixed and such.

Stokes's 50th birthday is on Halloween.

That's true, plus he's probably not the best at precision of language (god, I feel like we're talking about The Giver). Recording vocals and guitar for 12 songs shouldn't take over three months.

And yeah, I hope it's not delayed again. I remember when Adam said it would be released around Christmas of 2006. The songs were all written in July 2006, I believe.

Heh, well, we all thought the gap between albums wouldn't be as long again as it was between MP and Civilian.

Apparently they're actually aiming for January at this point. December would be a pleasant surprise, though.

Oh yeah! I forgot that he originally said Christmas '06 for the new album. Let's hope it doesn't get pushed back further than this winter.

I love that his blog had no point other than to tell us that another one would be coming.

It sounds to me like he's doing the vocals now, which would be a good thing because singing Roger eight times a week was bound to tire his voice. As for the recording time, three months is actually pretty quick, especially since I doubt if he had the energy to put in eight hours a day on top of his little gig at the Nederlander. Don't ask me why it takes so long to record and mix a CD, but I've heard far longer times mentioned than this.

i know he said at the stage door one night that he was going home after the Ohio shows. so i would assume that he's in CA right now.

Well, he wouldn't necessarily need to be in NY to record, would he? I'm sure it'd be easier to be on the east coast with Larry, though.

It is also possible to do some recording on separate coasts. My uncle is in a band cutting a record. The lead singer was in Japan doing a promo thing, so my uncle would record his bass tracks here in NJ, and send them out. I'm sure it is a bit difficult but is possible.

My best friend's ma's B-Day is Halloween. It kind of stinks though because it always gets in the way of Trick or Treating; but we do get birthday cake alongside our candy!

My birthday is the 28th, so as a little kid I always had halloween parties.

Yeah, Adam's is tomorrow and Anthony's is the 26th. Yay Scorpios? My mom's birthday was yesterday and my dad's the day before... he's technically a libra, but I feel like we're in good company as Oct 2_ people.

And as for recording on two different coasts, one of my fav bands, The Postal Service, does it that way, so it certainly is done.

I also love how many times he says hello and soon in so few words...oh adam, you and your tricky diction

i'm happy he blogged if nothing else it says that he's doing okay and hasn't been effected by the wildfires out there. we have friends near san diego who lost everything they had.

That's terrible. I heard about those fires and I met a girl a few weeks ago who lives near the affected areas. I hope she's okay.

I hope the album comes out on time as well. For now I'll just look forward to that blog Adam mentioned would be coming, as well as their website, which I'm curious about.
