aw, thanks guys!
we are pretty much north of all the devastation, though my son is in college in the affected areas. The air quality is awful, but he is safe. its pretty scary in California right now.

Robin, I hope you and your family continue to stay safe!

For some reason, I felt it was totally necessary to stay up until quarter of four this morning watching Rent on Starz. I couldn't sleep, but I certainly didn't think I would be up that late.

California isn't the only place that needs rain; there's drought conditions on the east coast as well. The town where my dad works is mostly on well water and the water table is so low that some homes don't have any access to water. I'd prefer SH*Tty air quality to living off of water bottles- and I'm asthmatic.

I won't consider one worse off than the other, both are horrible, horrible situations and I hope all parties get much needed relief soon.

I was watching CNN the other day and they were commenting on the horrid water situation in Georgia.

with over three thousand homes already lost, it is really so horrible. Its hard to watch the news shows, just so much devastation down there. My heart goes out to all those affected in SoCal.

Re: the Georigia drought. I am originally from Atlanta, and my family still lives there. My dad sent me an interesting article from Time Magazine the other day about how Atlanta is currently holding less than a 90-day supply of water and how the city has no back-up plan on what to do if their main reservior (a man-made lake just north of the city) does indeed run dry. It's nuts.

Yeah, there are some towns in Virginia that are in that same situation. My county is one of the only ones in the area NOT on water restrictions.
