Yeah I don't get that either. McCormick's vanilla extract and Hellman's mayo - I think "good" translates to "not the generic brand" (which is what I buy...). But I do buy organic stuff, so the cuts need to be made somewhere re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

To be honest, I'm kind of guilty of doing the same thing with clothes and shoes, Craww, but it irks me how she stresses "good vanilla" or "good mustard" like she feels the recipes will be ruined if someone doesn't spend the twenty dollars to get vanilla extract from Stonewall Kitchens. She's lucky she can afford to, but some of us need to stick to the Stop and Shop brand! I will say that I made her frozen key lime pie once and it was possibly the most amazing thing I've ever eaten.

Back to kittens- I'm apparently getting one tomorrow. Instead of getting me an anniversary present, Brendan has decided to get me a kitten. And by "getting me a kitten", I really mean "Brendan wants a kitten but is trying to pretend it's for me."

1st- have fun at the show tonight!

lol lucky - that's what my mom did with our last dog. She told my stepfather it was for him (which it actually turned out to be) but really, she wanted a puppy re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

You have to post pictures of the new kittie!!

Regarding brands - it really doesn't matter that much. I mean, I notice a difference in the imitation vanilla extract and the pure one, but that's because I'm nitpicky. If you can't tell the difference, just use what you have!

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

Sometimes, I interpret "good" as some kind of pretentious brand imported from France or bought at one of those weird food boutiques that seem to be all over the Hamptons. But mostly, I think it's just supposed to be a brand that you personally like.

Sandra Lee, on the other hand, is just an idiot. She constantly promotes her show as being this easy alternative with ingredients you can find at your local grocery store, but manages to use champagne extract in every single episode and that crap costs $12 per ounce. You can't find that at anywhere. Don't get me started on her stupid theme episodes and cocktail time.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

I kind of hate winter with a passion.

I don't hate winter, but I despise fall. Fall is such a tease. At least winter made up its mind that it wants to be cold. Also, I have happy mental associations with Christmas and all that.

I also dislike fall because it's when I'm at my worst academically. I have a tendency to be so much lazier in the fall, and it's probably become a self-fulfilling prophecy by now.

So tired of being rained on for the last few hours. I was going to get a red velvet cupcake from this fancy schmancy specialty grocery store, but I couldn't even walk the extra two blocks.

Happy Brendan Anniversary, Lucky! re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

My hands froze today from watching football. There were flurries. Hmm...

I love the winter though. Possibly my favorite season.

I make red velvet cakes and cupcakes sometimes - they're my stepfather's favorite.

Sandra Lee should not even have a cooking show. By the time you actually buy all the pre-made store stuff, you could have purchased the ingredients for cheaper and made them yourself. You can tell that the stuff she makes doesn't even taste good by looking at it.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

I remember her telling people to buy some sort of peppers or some other vegetable in a can- just so they can use the liquid in the jar! She threw out all the f*cking peppers just so she could the "flavoring". She does that with those flavored rice packages from Rice-a-Roni as well, and the powdered cheese in Kraft macaroni and cheese. She's yet to have an episode where she shows you what to do with all the leftover rice and pasta without flavors.

She also had an episode where every single dish she made was a phallic-shaped food. That wasn't the official theme, it was something about carnival food, but after watching her deep-throat a corndog, it wasn't a far leap to the association.

Oh, I was going to say. Was she like, "Tonight I'm going to show you all how to throw a pen*s party! I've got these great long balloons to blow up, corn dogs, sausages..."

And by the way - how friggin long does it take her to decorate for one of those parties? I got tired just watching her Halloween special last year. I was like she must have had to take off the entire month of October to paint bats on all those Styrofoam cups.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

How much time? What about how much money? For some little girl princess party theme, she went out and bought these 2-foot tall dolls for her tablescape (god, I loathe that word). Just so she could decorate with them ONCE. Dolls like that have to cost at least $100 and she uses them like normal people would use a flower arrangement. Not to mention all the special dishes to match her theme. Once she bought a baseball design grill just for an episode she did for a Little League game and suggested all her viewer do the same. Sure. I know I have $80 to toss down the drain just for a cutesy theme party. re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

Yesterday, she had a coffee theme. The "meal" consisted of beef tenderloin coated in ground coffee, iced mocha brownies, iced cinnamon rolls with coffee, and an iced mocha drink. Meat, coffee and sugar. What could be more healthy? Of course, she had to go out and buy coffee plates to put the food on. I watch her show just to laugh, because she's just so absurd. I loved when they had her show after Barefoot Contessa in the afternoon, because it made it all the more obvious how stupid Sandra Lee was in comparison.

Oh yeah, one time I had coffee in the afternoon, and I was up almost ALL night, lol! By the way, I love your screenname, orangeskittles. It reminds me of the Skittles that are orange!!

RIP Roger hair. Although I guess it had to go at some point, being bleached to death and all re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

Glad you had a good time, Cheryl! Also, I now totally get how you get along so well with the Pascal MySpace crowd. One evening with them and you've gotta feel like a grade A+++ genius, believe me.

Seriously, bye to the flattering hair. Oh well. Now he can court a little more of that older man fetishism.

Yeah, he had a day left of shooting for American Primitive.

i heard larry say they are doing some work on the album this week.

Does Adam just... go home and then go to NY and go home again during this process? Can't he just stay in NY and finish the thing once and for all?

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

LOL craww.

i don't know if adam is there for the whole week. i heard larry talking to some people about doing some producing and keyboard work, so i dont' know if adam is a part of that.
