Being both an Elton John and Adam fan, Aida is one of my favorites. As it happens, I recently came across an amazingly good high school performance of The Gods Love Nubia. Everything about this production is pretty bad EXCEPT the singing. These kids, and particularly the lead, out sing some professionals I've heard.

Going back to the ever popular hair topic, my favorite remains the Aida style, though it's probably not right for him now. Sorry this picture is so blurry.

I like the Aida cast recording. My mom saw Aida a few years ago, but I'm not sure with which cast.

Heather Headley and Adam were AMAZING together. There's a reason why those rumors about them having an affair were started. It was almost insulting to read reviews of the Rent return where people said he had good chemistry, because Adam can and has done SO much better opposite other actresses.

Adam and Tamyra were serviceable - I thought she was decent on her own, but as a couple, you didn't feel at all that they were really almost dangerously attracted to each other, which is how I always assumed Roger and Mimi should be.

I actually don't mind the lyrics to rADAMes's Letter. I always thought it was kinda cool that Amneris sang that letter to Radames in the earlier versions of the show, too. I'm not sure which way I like more.

i agree 100%. i thought he had much better chemistry with Antonique and Dana when I saw them play Mimi during the Return.

yeah someone posted one of those "questions" on facebook, that asked if you could be any piece of furniture what would you be? i answered any of the metal tables on stage at the neder, and someone else asked "if you could trade places with any celebrity who would it be" and i said anyone who played mimi from 7/31-10/7. :)

I think I like it better when Radames sings the letter -- kind of like I much prefer HIM singing Elaborates Lives to Aida as opposed to vice-versa. It shows him breaking down, giving in, changing -- which I think is much more powerful than having someone else tell it to him.

I think there was an interview where Adam said that in the script Radames originally took off all of his clothes.

Yeah, I meant nothing against Tamyra or Adam; you either have chemistry or you don't. They didn't. Which was fine, but I have to wonder how much fans actually know about Adam and his capabilities as a performer if they think chaste Adam/Tamyra kisses are as good as it gets.

If Adam had to take all his clothes off, maybe then at least he'd have spent more time in the gym and we wouldn't make the immediate Aida = moobs association. re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

(I honestly didn't think Tamyra was that bad -- she grew into the part and her performance on me quite a bit -- but not everybody feels the need to visit Rent on a regular basis or just for the sake of going. Just sayin' re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2)

no it's fine, that was more of a collective "we".

i've had a run of luck that she hasn't been on when i've been there recently. i do think she's grown into the part as well, but there are actresses i enjoy much more in that role.

I've listened to the recording with Mya Day's as Aida; lets just say the 'chipmunk' statement is SO TRUE.

Also on a fun off-topic note; I got one of the leads in my school's student run production of 'A Comedy of Errors'. Yay!
