re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

I would say that in general it's not typical of what he writes for himself, but his gift for writing melodies that stick in your brain is there, as well as the way he harmonizes. His harmonies and modulations can be striking because he makes subtle changes in the standard ones we're all used to hearing.

The first time I saw Aida, my undiscerning 13-year-old self apparently said that I thought it reminded me of a combination between The Lion King and Joseph... Dreamcoat. lol.

Me too, Tink.

How can a person not be an Elton John fan? Wow. That's like saying you hate Billy Joel or The Beatles.

Joseph is one of my favorite shows. I remember seeing it with Michael Damien.

Joseph was the first musical I was ever in, lol. Good ol' 7th grade production at Our Lady of the Holy Angels school.

Ugh, Joseph. I had the drama teacher my freshman year as an English teacher, and she forced all her classes into slave labor, folding playbills, moving sets, etc for weeks leading up to it. I still hate the show. re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

I hear Elton in a few songs, like Like Father Like Son, but that may be Adam's voice more than anything. I didn't realize that Written in the Stars was from Aida until I saw the show either.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

In fifth grade, I was selected to sing the "Close Every Door" solo in our Joseph medley concert. I don't know what happened to my wonderful voice, hah.

I looked up that YT Written in the Stars performance. Adam's hair is epic. Pomade and gel, darling.

I LOVE Billy Joel and The Beatles, have even seen Billy/Elton together in concert, I'm just not crazy about Elton the way I am about Billy.

I will have to check that YT video out when the boys are done playing the Wii. They are soo loud.

I actually really like Adam's voice in Like Father Like Son. But I just have a soft spot for his more growling like voice.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

totally unrelated but....

I saw Frankenstein this afternoon, and there is a song where Hunter is standing there belting out the words "Another Day" and I soooo was waiting for a RENT chorus to break out. Is that bad? lol

ETA - k, watched the YT video. Adam's hair makes me want to run my fingers through it for some reason. Seems like it'd have a soft feel to it. Otherwise, I actually don't like how he sounded there. Weird.

I don't like Billy Joel - I know, I know. Some of his songs are catchy but eh, I can't listen to him for longer than a song or two.

thats so funny, tink. At first I thought you meant YF, I was like oh, the strike is over?

Billy is my man. Adam's "vienna" & "Ny state of mind" (i think those are the only two he has done) make me weak in the knees.

I love Adam singing Billy Joel songs almost as much as Billy himself. Love.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

Screw Me and Larry, I want Adam to do a CD of Billy Joel and Elton covers. I can see it now:

Scenes from an Italian Restaurant
Your Song
Only The Good Die Young (Roger shoutout!)
Tiny Dancer
River of Dreams
Island Girl

Maybe Larry is needed for all the piano accompaniment, but no singing. Unless it's a duet of Don't Go Breaking My Heart. re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

Coincidentally, I've been singing Benny and the Jets all day. This has nothing to do with the Aida discussion; I woke up with it stuck in my head.

I like Elton's songs, but I don't think I even own any of his CD's. I would prefer Billy. But skittles, I would so help finance that album, hehe.

Mmm. Adam singing Billy Joels makes me happy. I saw Billy and Elton when I was like 7, but I barely remember it.

Didn't Adam say that he hated River of Dreams? Scenes from an Italian Restaurant is probably my favorite song. period. And I think he should sing The Stranger, too.

WHY HAS THE STRIKE TURNED THE MAIN BOARD INTO AN IDIOTS' CONVENTION?

My favorite is kind of obsure -- Summer, Highland Falls.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part 14 v. 2

Summer, Highland Falls is awesome. I don't think I could pick one favorite Billy song.... Miami 2017 is up there.

ETA: i did not realize how appropriate the opening line of Miami 2017 is... "i've seen the lights go out on broadway".

I'm telling you - Adam singing "She's Got a Way" while I walk down the aisle would be like an ultimate dream come true.
