Huh. That is certainly a different Aida. Well.
Em - I actually thought I might be able to go in February, but today the choir concert was moved to exactly the same date. So unless I want to flunk choir, that trip is cancelled. But thanks anyway-hopefully another time
I'm contemplating another hair color, probably just a rinse. I've decided I only do my own, because we had a slight fiasco when I dyed my friend's and it turned out red rather than brown.
Hmm..those pictures look interesting. Trench coat and jeans? That's certainly different.
I didn't see the tour, but I did get to see Aida at the Westchester Broadway Theatre last spring. I didn't even give myself a chance to enjoy it because I spent the entire time comparing everything to the original (and there weren't even *that* many differences in this case). I was just kind of eh about the whole thing. It definitely made me appreciate the show much more, though.
Not that anyone cares, but I got my hair fixed today. I am very happy about being blonde again!
In other hair news, I used this new straightening stuff today and I. love. it. My hair's all soft and shiny and my mother who HATES when I straighten my hair even likes it.
Speaking of hair; I played with a can of hairspray today and made it really poofy! I guess that's what boredom does for some people I'm also contemplating whether or not to keep my natural hair color or dye it brown (I've never dyed my hair before and it sounds like it could be fun!)
Sadly, I remember when everyone's hair was really poofy. Just recently I had my hair streaked for the first time and really like it.
I'm so glad that I impulsively went to see Aida before it closed. I loved that show. I don't feel any particular need to see another production right now - maybe some time in the future.
I had to dye my hair once for a show I was in. My natural hair color is a light brown and I had to dye it black. Needless to say I will never dye my hair again!

I love when my hair is straight but it takes hours.
My hair is extremely thick. I love it, but sometimes I want to shave it all off.
I sprained my foot from my dance class last week and it is all bruised and blue/green (ew) ..I have been hobbling around on crutches. This sucks. Eh, sorry for my rant..I should really move this to the banal thread.
Those Aida pictures look way to modernized. What is with Radames wearing jeans and a belt?
My hair has never been more than vaguely wavy so I have no idea what dealing with curly hair is like, but when I see pictures of Bernadette Peters or Daphne back in her Rent days, I can't imagine wanting to straighten my hair if it were really curly. But maybe their kind of hair is special, or that look is really hard to maintain.
Maybe this is unfair, but my first thought on seeing those Aida tour pictures was that the costume department must have been pretty strapped for cash.
Feel better, Alex!
My hair is really thick, too (and very curly!) but over time I've figured out how to minimize the time it takes to straighten. I can do it now in like half an hour, which isn't bad at all. And I'm a perfectionist about it.
I wondered that too, Chloe. And it may be part of the decision to go that route, but... must they be quite so ugly? =/
Sorry about your foot Alex! I pulled a muscle in my hip and in my knee tonight in ballet, not as bad as a sprained foot, but it still hurts.
My hair is naturally curly, not the really tight corkscrew curls, but still curly. It takes me about 45 minutes to straighten my hair everyday and it's a pain!
(Sorry I know neither of these post were really on topic, but hey...)

Thanks :)
You feel better too, dancin!

I thought the same exact thing Chloe. Is the tour equity?
My hair isn't curly, just wavy, but long and thick. I find it easier to blow dry my hair after a shower. My method is drying it upside down (it works really well) and then the next day it is all flat, and non-poofy.
ETA: I better go to bed. Goodnight everyone :)
I don't think it is equity. Good night, Alex, feel better. You too, Dancin.
Wow, I hope everyone feels better!
hair - my hair was straight my whole life until i decided to perm it one time my junior year. My hair has been curly ever since. But it's blah curly, nothing special. It poofs, so I either have to put loads of gel in right after I shower, or straighten it, which takes FOREVER, and then poofs and curls in any humidity/rain/etc. I feel your pain!

Hi girls. I kind of hoped to come back to some news!
I'm in the airport and watching CNN International. They should just keep David Bechkam on screen at all times.
ETA: To those who sent me text messages while I was away - I didn't receive them until now because I lost service shortly after we departed from the port, but thanks for thinking of me!

I PMed you news.
Welcome back! There are a few little updates, but it's been rather slow around here while you were away.

Hey Lexi! Welcome back. How was your visit?

It was a lot of fun - our ship took us to various ports in the Western Caribbean. Just remind me to never agree to be in such close quarters with my parents for an extended period of time again! I'm still at the airport. My laptop battery died; I just plugged in my computer in a horrible location. People keep walking into me, although I guess that's my fault!
I missed you girls, too! I do have to be honest and say that for as much as I felt like I missed the internet while I was on vacation, it was good to get away from such extended computer use for a while. I really think it was putting me into a funk - nothing related to anyone in this thread, just feeling like I literally could not be away from a computer for more than a couple hours when there wasn't anything important to see or do online. I'm glad I could prove to myself that I could indeed spend two weeks away from the internet and still mentally survive. In fact, I think I'm in a much better frame of mind now.
It is such an addiction. I'm glad your vacation left you feeling refreshed.
That sounds amazing! I'm jealous!
I know what you mean about needed a break from the computer. I've spent WAY too much time online in the past few weeks. I guess that's what being home and jobless does to you. As you can see, we've been discussing hair the past few days- obviously very on-topic!
I thought I would spend even more time online during the break than I normally do, but I'm glad that wasn't the case, because to spend entire days online and do that day after day after day really puts me in an awful frame of mind. I definitely kept busy enough, and had blocks of time where all I had a chance to do was check in periodically throughout the day. I survived.
Welcome back Lexi, hope you had a nice vacation! I'm going to see whether I can withstand not using the internet for the entire weekend...I need to study for my finals, and practice for my satiracal speech, and write a paper...man alive; this whomps BIG TIME!
LEXI!
I didn't spend that much time online either. There wasn't much to interest me when I WAS online, so I didn't see the point in spending more time doing nothing.
I wish I felt more negatively about doing nothing - it's always seemed like a swell way to pass the time.
