Same here, Chloe. I used to want to be a lawer, heh. I'm curious, though; maybe I'll look it up. I just feel like everything is going to be fairly ambiguous and open to interpretation.... almost intentionally difficult to understand.

I think the issue is that there are differences in the benefits afforded.

Mesmerized, you may be totally right for all I know. It's confusing.

I shouldn't be greedy after seeing two concerts, but I'm feeling sad that Adam won't be around for all the various benefits coming up. I see Raul and Daphne are in one, for instance.

Actually, that benefit is enticing. It sounds like they'll be doing Mambo Kings era music, which is great.

What I've read about the NJ decision is that if it's a civil union, it's the same thing as a marriage in every way except name. It's about semantics. Calling it "marriage" is too scary for the conservatives, but the Supreme Court decision in NJ demands that they get all the rights and benefits of a marriage. That's why they made this decision in the first place- because the domestic partnerships they had previously created were unacceptable.

I haven't heard about as many benefits this year, but that's probably because performers that I keep an eye on don't seem to have been in any.
