A bunch of people got together to see the show tonight.
Undi, I'm sad you couldn't go! I wanted you to see it.
Ok, I need a place to rant. I feel so stressed out and overwhelmed. I have a math quiz tomorrow, which I know nothing about. I have to write a paper that's due friday and I don't know when I'm actually going to write it. I have to re-coreograph the routine I made up for my little pom group because the music doesn't work with it. I'm trying to make flip flops for a friend. My dance classes are starting this week and I have no free time at all. I know it's not really a lot of stuff to do, but it seems like a lot to me. *sigh* I need some chocolate!
*sends dancin lots of chocolate*
Ooooo! Everything is better now that I have chocolate. Thanks Angela!
We had a great time last night, and that certain someone (not me) *did* get that autograph.
It was certainly a different interpretation of the show. Probably the most surprising thing was how well the score worked in the pared-down orchestration played by the actors. It somehow made the music more important. Some things I really liked about the staging and others I didn't, but it was definitely worth seeing.
It was also wonderful to meet several people from the board.

Last night was amazing! I had an absolutely awesome time. I think Sweeney's better the second time you see it.
I have to admit that the funniest part of the night was learning that Michael Cerveris searches for himself on the Unmentionable Site.
In all fairness a friend could have pointed him to that video, but you're probably right.

True, but I enjoy the thought of Michael searching for himself. Granted, it would have been funnier if he were searching for Adam!
Ooh, I can't wait until October.
Did everyone enjoy themselves at sweeney last night?
Lexi, you're my hero.
And I agree. I can just imagine it- Michael signing into The Site as "dEm0nbArb3r" and favoriting "Under Pressure", then embedding the video on his MySpace....um, sorry, it's been a weird morning.

You and I will have to ask Adam to sign it as well. I'll mention that Michael said Adam was more drunk, of course.
Okay, shopping time (more like window shopping, actually).

You girls are hysterical. Enjoy your shopping, Lexi.
Dancing, as you can see, a fine time was had by all.
Wooo Sweeney. *dances*
It sounds like everyone enjoyed themselves.
I'm glad everyone had a great time. Sounds like fun! I think Adam would have to be drunker than Michael - after all, there was that note... Hope everyone's doing okay in school. It'll probably get better as soon as we settle in. I use Rent to put myself into perspective, too.
Great job, Lexi, by the way.
Well, that's just Michael's opinion, of course, but he did admit that he "caught up later."
Ariella, you were obviously pretty young the first time you saw Rent. What are your memories, if any?
I saw it with my cousins (considerably older - we didn't go to the theatre with any adults) by means of the lotto, so we were second row. Close enough to note details like Adam's eyelashes... Anyway. I know I didn't get significant portions of the plot, and I remember asking my cousin about the "AZT break." Nevertheless I loved the music and I was always singing it. I saw the show in 1997, so it was pretty near the end of Daphne's run. Even at that age, I had to notice what incredible chemistry she and Adam had. Pretty explosive. I was also scared she was going to fall off the bars during "Out Tonight." Let's see... I was also really struck by the Roger/Mark fight in "Goodbye Love." My cousin belatedly tried to cover my ears (and eyes) at certain points during "La Vie Boheme," but it was largely unsuccessful. Luckily I loved the show even though I was young, so I didn't lose out because I didn't understand the finer points and references.
Back to homework... I wish teachers would ease us in gently, but that's high school for you.
Thanks, Ariella, it must have made quite an impression on you.
Anyone waiting around to get tickets for the Queens show better get a move on. The front half of the center section is almost full.
Micheal searching for himself on the unmentionable site That's funny.
And this is comming way late, but part 11? My jesus...
Hey opiv, nice to see you. I'm sure it happens all the time. Adam said in a newspaper article during the last tour that he likes fans to record his shows so he can see them too.
Yay for Adam CDs!
Yay for Sweeny Todd!
Boo for Connie having to start school in a week. :P
I just saw you posted at 4:46 AM our time, Connie, which is pretty late even for the west coast. I hope school goes well for you this year. I take it you haven't learned anything about the Westminster College date one way or the other?
Yay for 4 day weekends!
Boo for English papers [that have to be written over said 4 day weekend]!
Happy Thursday everyone!
Bumping down the question: any info about Adam @ Westminster College?
Hi Ariella - what do you have to write about?
Nothing especially worthwhile... just the typical "analyze your summer homework book" essay. We had to read "The Things They Carried" which is a semi-fiction Vietnam book. It could have been worse - usually everything we read is the story of a young boy who is forced through great adversity in order to become a better person. That sort of thing.
Only 1 week of school down and my computer's already crashed. Not a very auspicious way to start a year, but tech's never been my strong point.
