Thank god, JL. I got all concerned- Billy Joel and Elton John are my all-time favorite performers, so if I missed the two of them together, I would have been furious with myself.
My dad still has a playbill from the OBC of Jesus Christ Superstar. He saw it on a high school trip.
I got the BC/EFA mug this year with the logos of the shows. I'm going to start a collection of those from now on cause I can use them. I'm running out of space to collect things I can't actually use. Hopefully they'll continue the tradition :)
I don't have all the playbills from when I was younger. My mom has a Barbra Streisand in Funny Girl playbill, which I think is pretty cool.
i love looking at the pictures of the shows that they sell in times square, but i've yet to find one that i've really loved.
<-- look i changed my avatar, its my first picture that i've actually taken =)
my friend's parents have an OBC RENT playbill, which i think is sooo cool

love the new avatar
that is AWSOME that yr parents have the OBC playbill for rent
not my parents, my friend's parents...
it was so cute, cause the other day she says to me 'mel, i love you so much for introducing me to rent' (i took her for her first time). i was like awww
SD, I thought the same thing about Adam doing old Broadway songs. It's like he's finally starting to accept that he is a Broadway performer, after almost 10 years of resisting that label.
opps read it wrong, sorry
that is still pretty cool thought! i would steal it..moo haha [jk]
My friends who introduced me to Rent in early '97 were visiting so we went to the city for the day ... of course there was no way we could get tickets. I believe it was before lotto days, back when people were sleeping out. We saw Grease instead (Picked because of geographical location and being shorter than Rent) and then ran over to the stage door at Rent. Being new to the thing, I didn't insist upon being in the photos with most of the OBC people. So now they're in my photo album but not with me. My finger just took the picture. Stupid, stupid me. I saw the tour that summer but didn't get to broadway til Dec 97. At least I got to see Anthony!
its practically a sin to steal that
What would life be without sinning??? :)
boringgg :-p hahaha
your so lucky you got to see Anthony..I wish I had RENT in my life longer then I've had it, but I'm glad I do. I got to see it with Cary Shields, which was soo cool for me cause I love Taboo.
::random:: does anyone else get really sad when they pull out one of their eye lashes by accident? i dont have thick eyelashes so its like every little bit counts!

Yeah I think it's really what the performers offer. I've enjoyed some of my experiences more than others and pretty much each time I saw it, it was completly different people. Of course the movie's what I've got forever now. :)
must eat food - fading....collapsing...there has to be something to eat other than donuts. Of course nobody probably ever died from eating donuts for dinner. Hmmm...
mmm donuts *wishes she had self control* hahaha
It's the same with me as far as seeing Cary and loving Taboo. I was far too young when the show first opened, but at least I've seen most of the OBC in their other projects.
I'm the same way with my eyelashes! I always get sad when I pull one out.
the closest i've got to seeing the cast perform was in bryant park over the summer..which was soo amazing.
JL, no one's ever died from eating donuts for dinner, but people HAVE died from not eating dinner, so your choice should be obvious.
microwave + leftover pork = quasi actual dinner
My middle school used to take the band and orchestra kids to see Phantom every year ... we were very jealous cause my friend's older brother saw the OBC their year. I can't even think about how long ago that was. Thank goodness he's her much older brother - or I'd be old. :)
The closest I got was the movie .
That was such an amazing day. I was at The Today Show as well as Bryant Park, which was the first time that I met Anthony.
I'm thinking of starting the trend of seeing everything no matter how bad it seems like it might be. That way, the odds are that EVENTUALLY there will be a hit and I'll be able to say I saw the OBC. I'm thinking of starting my plan with Tarzan.
EDIT: Very jealous of all of you who were at the Today Show / Bryant park. I had been to the Today Show a few weeks earlier to see a friend who was a guest ... so nobody wanted to skip work and go with me again! You are all so lucky.

Skittles, still, look at the way he phrased it: "ome of the theater standards that you musical theater fans are so fond of." Hah. I like the guy, but he should just embrace the fact that he is such a popular musical theater performer. Of course, that's easy for me to say.
Ok, when it said Maria, that's from West Side Story, right, I've never seen it. Because I really can't picture him singing "how do you solve a problem like Maria"
I enjoy Adam singing in any genre, as long as I can get my hands on it.
hahaha .. no but I'd pay to see it :)
