I was at his first show at Joe's Pub when he sang Glory as an encore. Was that the first time he'd done it since the 5th reunion show? I remember the audience just screamed with excitement.
He did it at the Kean concert; they did Glory --> Light My Candle and then during Daphne's set they did Out Tonight --> Another Day.
Oh that's right - I forgot about Kean for a moment. It's funny, last night I was thinking about how someone (probably one of you) phoned in the information that Adam licked Daphne during the show. That was the only thing we knew about it for a while.

Haha, what? During which song?
She put her hands together as if she was holding a candle, and held them up; "would you light my candle?" Adam... licked her.
Ok, off we go. Send some good vibes our way
Best of luck, you guys. I'm sending you my fabulous "beginner's luck at poker" vibes. I won some serious money.
Oh, I see Skittles. I was a little nervous about the crowd, but Em calmed me. I mean you gotta at least figure at this they won't be singing along...don't get me started on how much I will KILL anyone singing along.
It's silly to not expect the screaming, but again, I'm just praying there's not so much that I can't hear them singing, you know? I'm thinking at the beginning, and everyone's first entrances will get the big screams and then it will all hopefully die down.
And everything else that has gone on in those other places...well, you gotta figure most of the crowd is going to be very high profile right? A lot of ex-Renters and other people in the industry. While this may result in them all being bombarded...I don't know for sure, but I really really hope with them right there in the audience, the slightly more crazies will be able to contain/control themselves. At least not start singing in front of all the actors before the show starts, you know?
In terms of meet and greet, I also understand where you're coming from. It's hard to not think about that aspect, especially if Adam's moving and I'd want to see him, but you're totally right, ultimately the greatest benefit is being there, witnessing them singing. The only OBCers I've ever heard sing anything from Rent was Anthony sing Seasons of Love and Adam sing Glory. With both of those, I just got this OMG OMG I can't believe I'm seeing this feeling. And the more I thought of it, the more...OMG Wilson's gonna be singing Today 4 U, Idina Over the Moon, my first time seeing Jesse live, and then OMG the Seasons of Love soloist! Like it's all hitting me and I think the whole time I'll just be grateful and in shock that I get to hear this.
And assuming I don't go to the party, I'm hoping, but not honestly expecting to get anyone near any of the cast members after the show. If there is a barricaded stage door, it's gonna be packed by fans who didn't go to the concert way before, you know? And you know now there may be more ohh I wish I could have talked to Adam one more time, but deep down I know the most important thing is getting to see this performance.
And can you imagine there being one dry eye when the 15 originals come out after intermission to sing Seasons of Love? Oh boy. Who's bringing tissues?
Ooh, one more note. My last class of the day was cancelled. Great day for it!
ETA: Best of luck!
I hope you have a great time, wicked.
I read on the main board Nederlander thread that the cast was already in the building earlier today. That was smart.
Thanks Chloe
I definitely agree that was a smart idea. But the poor cast, they're like...trapped in there for the whole day.

I'm also sort-of ridiculously nervous about tonight.
I've only seen Anthony perform live, and I'm afraid the fangirls will ruin it. Because as much as I'd like to meet the cast, there's a time and place for signing autographs and getting pictures. Tonight really isn't the time.

I am so super jealous that I can't be there (stupid tech week! I'll be thinking of Adam's tech week story the whole time..) and I expect really REALLY detailed reports. Somehow I don't think that'll be a problem. Have fun everyone! I'll be there in spirit.
(Kind of belated, but...)
Good luck to those trying the lotto, and have fun for those going!
At those prices, I doubt the audience will be primarily crazy younger fans, though I'm sure the ones who *are* there will make themselves heard. It'll be interesting to hear what they're like and how they respond.

I survived today! Whew...too much going on, I swear...
I'm so excited for tonight and I'm not even there!
Off topic: FINALLY got my copy of Julia's cd...fantastic...
Hey Amber. Apparently they're drawing names for the lottery now - keep your fingers crossed, everyone.

Supposedly if you win, you get goodie bags...I want a goodie bag!
Good luck, everyone!
I had the most interesting conversation with my mom last night:
Me:Mom, would you light my candle?
Mom:No.
Me:Why?
Mom:Because I don't want you to do heroin.
We have such a strange relationship...

HA! 5 points for your mom
;_;
I hate being fifteen...if I were older, I would've TOTALLY bought a ticket to the benefit concert, even if it meant dipping into my savings. Yes, I'm just that nuts.
Good luck, everyone! I expect a 10-page report on my desk by Wednesday.
By the way, you know how a lot of shows/concerts are put on DVD? Do you think they'll put the benefit on DVD?
Haha, that's funny Atrias.
I wish I were older too guitargeek :-/.
What really stinks is being a grown up and having your brain and self control win over the "BUT I WANNA GO!!!!!!!" instinct in your brain.
It's kind of a Catch-22, isn't it?
For the benefit, I heard there's a gala right after of some sort. Does that mean that those who attend can mingle with the actors? If so - *headdesk*
There goes my chance to meet Adam...*sigh*
Don't worry, I think he's supposed to do more concerts and I think there's supposed to be one on Long Island in October.
