I just posted the CN8 video on the LJ comm. and I'm sure people are going to think I'm a bitch for asking them not to upload it to YouTube. Is that wrong of me to do that?
I know it's been said countless times, but I'm glad you all had a good time (even though that's to be expected!).
Interesting about the shoe size and boxers vs. breifs question--I'm partially like, "Who would ask that?" but it's highly amusing that they did and he answered. (Oh, you KNOW he made the connection.) I wonder what a certain other actor's responses would be, hmm.

No. It's your time an effort, if you don't want it on youtube that's your perogative (sp?)
Thanks, Sarah. I just feel bad about coming off as being bitchy. But everything I've uploaded there is on YouTube 10 minutes later and it just seriously annoys me. I hope people are somewhat understanding.
Now I wonder why I care so much what other people think anyway. *sigh*
That's definitely not bitchy AT ALL, Tracie. They should be appreciative that you've uploaded it for them in the first place, and I hate how *everything* ends up on YouTube these days.
Okay. I'm posting a little something about last night.
I've only ever heard Adam sing duets or group numbers live, so I was really excited about this. I got lost on the campus and I must have called the girls about ten times. After I did get inside and calmed down, it really hit me that I was going to see Adam.
When he started singing, I was so happy. He opened with Beautiful Song, which is one of my favorites. I don't think that I need to give too many details about the concert. Emcee and wrq summed it up pretty well.
I really liked most of his answers in the Q&A. They were all heartfelt. The questions about his shoe size and boxers or briefs were a little weird, but they made me laugh.
I've never met Adam before, and although it was really quick, it was still really nice. I was the last of the four of us, so I got the chance to watch him interact with the other girls before I went up. His smile upon seeing Emcee made me a lot less nervous. I got him to sign Model Prisoner, and then we took a picture.
I had a great time, and I can't wait to see him perform live again.

Glad you had a great time bohemian! It sounds like you guys had a blast.
Tracie, it's not bitchy at all. It was very nice of you to upload it in the first place.
ETA: do you guys have pictures? Em, i'd love to see the autograph
Everything has pretty much been said already, but I just wanted to say something, since this was my first time seeing Adam sing in a concert setting. For as much as it seems like Adam doesn't take sh*t from anyone, he is definitely a crowd pleaser and one hell of a performer. It's so obvious that this is his passion. Although when asked what he preferred and what was the hardest (concerts, broadway, tv/film) he said concerts were the most difficult because he has nothing to hide behind - he just looks *so* at ease up there with his guitars.
I know the guy is honest and all, but he was so far from being a diva last night. He was really sharp with responding to all the obnoxious things people shouted out (most of which were ADAM I LOVE YOU!). He thanked the crowd numerous times for a) coming and b) being a great crowd (which I think most people were far from being).
Although I didn't really get to say anything to Adam (because I was directly after Em and he was still talking to her) I'm just glad that he knew we took the drive to see him. You could just tell he was really honestly appreciative of the support.

Fantab and Bohemian, thanks for the reviews. :)
Regarding those questions... I'm pretty sure he made the connection. He might not be the sharpest knife in the drawer all the time, but I don't think he's that naive. Heh.
I still think it's hilarious someone asked that, even if I wouldn't have done so. What was his reaction to that question, anyway? Weirded out or amused? He's probably so used to that kind of stuff by now.
RAWR. My school's internet service was down last night for maintenance or something, which I did NOT know was scheduled to happen, and I missed Adam on CN8. Of course, I can download it now, thanks to Tracie, so all is well.
If I remember correctly, he kind of just stood there for a minute, then answered. Most people missed the boxer/brief question because everyone was still laughing about the shoe size one.
Speaking of shoes, Adam was wearing the cute converse-esque sneakers

Hah! Poor Adam (although I still think it's damn funny!).
By the way, thanks again to Tracie for uploading the video. You definitely didn't sound bitchy!
Thanks Lexi. And you are all very welcome!
Fantab, I still think you should've told him you liked his shoes! Though then it would be like ".... you're looking at my [big] feet, why?"
Even if he's not always the sharpest, his dirty mind had to have made the connection. This is someone who finds Dirty Sanchez plain hysterical.
Strange random thing: he f*cked up his OWN lyrics. Twice.
What songs did he mess up the lyrics to?
Don't mind my ranting...but I just spent half the morning in a classroom full of people who were openly willing to justify and reinforce stereotypes and make ridiculous observations and accusations. And this all stemmed from a conversation about someone's hair. *Headdesk*
When he sang Book of Endings, he began the first verse with:
"Ice is forming around her broken heart, for this morning, she wrote him one last time," then skipped to "friends forever, 'cause I've seen you fifteen times, I deserve you, every second of your time," but he got back on track and skipped back to the first verse. Then he repeated "friends forever..." at the right section of the song. It was bizarre.
When he sang Liken a Razor, he just inverted the lines at the end of the song.
On the CD, it's "so baby if you don't mind, I'll start again alone, and baby if you don't mind I'll move myself along." He flipped them. Then repeated the first one, regardless of the fact that it was the *wrong* one.
That's just me being nitpicky. I mean, nobody really noticed. :)
ETA -- Fantab, yeah, I was *really* shocked at how openly appreciative he was that we drove down. Sometimes his humility is very present.
What kind of class?
I usually notice when things like that happen too. I wonder if it's a usual occurance for him, or a momentary lapse of memory...I'd think it would be hard to remember every word to every song all the time.
The class is called "Women, Minorities and the Media." So in essence, it's suppose to make us aware of stereotypes, judgments, etc...not reinforce them.
He has trouble remembering lyrics, but I was like ".... to your OWN stuff?" I guess you sort of just go on autopilot, especially when it's your own work.
That class sounds like it's begging for stereotypes! But... I'd think people taking such a course wouldn't be *so* prone to them! :-/
I agree about the autopilot thing...it must be sort of hard to sing the same thing over and over. I knew he had to look at the lyrics when he first started out in Rent for a while.
I thought people in the class wouldn't be so prone to stereotypes either, and that they would want to try to fight off that kind of thinking...but maybe that's just my ultra-liberal attitude coming into play.
What's the poltiical climate of the class, usually? Since I got to an all girls' school, I feel like my perception of something like that is a little skewered. :) I expect everybody who takes a class like that to be flaming liberals!
Well, in general there's a lot of conservatives at my school. However, in previous classes the teacher has made us say certain stereotypes for certain people and she writes them on the board, sort of her way of making people aware of them. But then today she was actively taking part in the discussion. We were talking about how people have to look a certain way to hold some positions, and while I know that's often true in society, it isn't necessarily right.
Oh, I get what you're saying. So you're talking about the way society "wants" people to look a certain way to be certain things in hopes of shattering those ideas in the class, but rather people are... upholding them? That's counterproductive.
Yeah, pretty much. Like just last week we were talking about how if you want to be a tv reporter, you have to look a certain way, and that's wrong. But then today we were talking about how if you want to hold a professional position, you have to look a certain way, and everyone thought that was just fine.
Yeah, that was definitely awesome how appreciative he was of our drive. First asking surprised and flattered, and then to make sure to thank us and be concerned about you know if we had a good time since we drove down and stuff...it was really sweet.
Yeah, I didn't catch the lyrics mess-up. I thought Emcee and Fantab were laughing because Em has probably met Adam around 15 times, and the song was about someone he met 15 times and yeah...apparently wasn't the case. Oops.

You wouldn't make the connection because you don't have a penis.
Or do you?
(I'd rather not know the answer.)
AND...what exactly is NOT funny about a Dirty Sanchez?
