The Temple of Dendur was very cool, but I liked the garden part where they had all of the sculptures the best--I don't know what it's called, though.

Probably the sculpture garden
I just looked it up. The Aida thing was a combination discussion of how exhibits in the museum contributed to the design of the show - and I do seem to recall that the opening and closing scenes were specifically inspired by the Met - and concert featuring Adam, Heather and Taylor Dayne. I guess it was a little later in the run then.

You've all mentioned my two favorite places at the Met within the last few posts. Ashley, I believe that place is simply called the "Sculpture Garden" (or at least that's what I've always thought it's called!). It's so peaceful and beautiful. I always thought it would be a romantic place to walk with a date, too. :)
Naturally, I love the Temple of Dendur as well. I remember that there was a mummified hand displayed for a while in one of the adjacent rooms. As a small child, it creeped me out!

One of my other favorite exhibits at the Met is the musical instruments. It's always so neglected, though.
That's the sculpture garden in the back, no? Last time I was there, it was with TWO guys. Neither of whom like girls. :-P Would've been romantic, though...
btw, I posted a picture of the poster from last night, for those who asked last night. It's back a few pages.

I loved the Met. I really want to go again, I haven't been there in....6 years!! I was so enthralled by everything. While the other students in my group were talking among themselves, I dragged my mother (the leader of the group) to everything I wanted to look at, so they had to follow. I actually have my initials in hieroglyphics on a necklace that I bought in the gift store. Aw, I think I'm going to wear it tomorrow.

I. Heart. Museums.
It's a lovely topic to return to after my less than stellar evening. Without getting into specifics, I was indirectly told that music was more important than family (thus, I'd miss Easter at home with my family). Yeah...it hasn't been a good evening...

The Horse
I should really be studying for my exam tomorrow. Maybe if the whole "seeing Adam tomorrow" thing wasn't so distracting, I'd be able to concentrate!

I have a necklace like that, too, Rogue. I used to be able to read a little bit of heiroglyphics, but since that is not useful AT. ALL. I never used it and it's completely escaped me.

Heh, thanks. Sorry, my social life consists of hanging out with preschoolers right now, so my conversation topics are lacking. But if anyone wants to talk about coloring and trains and who the better super hero is- Spiderman or Batman- I'm there.

Figures that it would just be called the Sculpture Garden.
I overthink things. I do love that place, though...it's so calming. Bah, I want to go back to NYC!

Obviously. Just don't let the kid playing Batman hear you say that.
I've had to make 2 Batman masks over the past 2 days.

You should go when you're in NYC, Sarah... it's so interesting.
I have some weird urge to talk about art now. I was totally excited the other day because in my Art History class we studied Antonio Canova, who's been my absolute favorite sculptor ever since I saw his Cupid and Psyche on display at this random museum in Italy. It's seriously one of the most breathtaking things I've ever seen.

Hahaha Em.
As soon as you mentioned the temple, Sesame Street immediately came to mind. Sure enough, you mentioned it next sentence
We've talked about this before, but I love that special! Cookie Monster eating paintings of cookies...
So you were deprived of Full House, but got Sesame Street?
Ooh, I don't remember any musical instruments. I wish we would have seen those on our trips.
