hee. Non-athletic men are my favorite.
gasp, maybe he IS taking Raul lessons.
Yeah, it would be great to hear more. I guess that must have been the GMU show, as I gather he didn't tell that story at Cortland. She also said he had "a foul mouth, it was hilarious," and that someone passing by yelled out "Freebird!" and Adam explained that this was a Broadway crowd.
yeah the baseball story was pretty cute.
Adam said that he and Jesse went to a batting cage a few months back and he was really bad at hitting the balls and missed pretty much everyone. He said something about softballs, but everytime he said something girls would scream and we'd miss half of what he said. Giving his introduction was horrible because people would stop screaming after everything I read.

Interesting note someone posted over on lj, from a Rent review in England...
"Other performances click better. Adam Pascal is good and relaxed as Mark's singer-songwriter flatmate, and Jesse L Martin, as philosophy professor Tom Collins (Mugged and saved, inevitably by a drag queen called Angel), throws himself into the m ovie with undeniable oomph and feeling."
The review for the movie was...not nearly as positive, but I was impressed Adam was pointed out (we know this, but not many US critics do apparently)...
Great picture, Wickedly. Did you hear the Jesse/baseball story?
ETA: I see you did - thanks!

"Apparently, according to his stage manager, someone tried to "swipe" that jacket the night before."
Yeah--he left the jacket on stage at Cortland. I knew some crazy fangirl would try to steal it. I'm glad it was saved! *pets the jacket*
bearly. I had to take pictures of the concert while still getting stuff for Adam, Larry, and Adam's stage manager P2. So i was pretty busy and not really able to fully enjoy the show. Not to mention as soon as Adam said random words like softball and batting cage, people went crazy

Sounds like a pretty wild audience. I've read that the place was packed, so good for you. Some of the other schools didn't to do such a good job of getting out the word.
Wow, red eyes.

He looks demonic in that picture, yet it's oddly attractive..

Thanks for the photos, WickedlyPerfect.
Aw, Adam was happy that there was no meet and greet? That's... disheartening, although not unexpected.
What did you have to keep getting for him? Water and the like?
It sounds like his schedule was a major consideration, but this reminds me of a discussion from quite a while ago about whether Adam was an introvert or extrovert. We pretty much came to the conclusion that he was an introvert and meeting fans probably took quite a bit out of him. This was partly based on something he said in one of his interviews - that sometimes he wished that he could just record his music anonymously, stay at home and lead a normal life.

I'm not blaming him the slightest. I was just thinking of how crazy his fans have been during this tour and sad if that turned him off to meeting his fans in general, although I'm sure being tired had a lot more to do with it than anything.
Even though his sets aren't especially long, I'd imagine that he'd be incredibly tired after playing a show every night and having to travel after that.
I agree, I was thinking that before he started, especially since it seems he's driving rather than flying.
Wickedly, check your PM's.

The people on IMDB need to just STOP. Maybe the fact that a good percentage of his fans are effing insane has something to do with him not wanting to sign stuff when he's about to collapse from exhaustion anyway.
Or, maybe he was really being a jerk. I don't know. Either way, I think it's disgusting that people treat him (as well as Anthony, in particular) like a commodity (as skittles said to me earlier). Heaven forbid people actually focus somewhat on his actual songs instead of how many photos they can get with him, or how many autographs they can get, or the number of time he puts his hand between his legs.
I realize I'm a huge hypocrite in some respects, because after all, I was the person poking fun at his ugly necklace and shoes just earlier today, but all in all, I hope that I ultimately project an image of respect for him and all performers, for that matter.
I know the post you mean, but that was just one person, fortunately. You're so right, though, that a lot of his and Anthony's (shall we say) less mature fans seem not to understand that they're just people. It's basically a lack of imagination and inability to put oneself in someone else's shoes.

Well, only one person's post sparked my post, but I was responding to the crazy Adam/Rent fandom overall. Maybe all of this was just as prevalent with Anthony's book tour (I have the feeling that it was), and I didn't take as much notice. It's so cliche, but in the end, these people are only human.
I'd LOVE to be able to go to just one of his shows, but people aren't apparently even satisifed with that.
This isn't totally the same, but I couldn't believe the people that were mad because he didn't sing all showtunes.

DancingQueen: I am going to Case Western University for the concert, in Cleveland, Ohio! (Yay all the cool people coming to Ohio for once!)
Wow, trying to steal his jacket? That is terrible! What are you gonna say- This is the jacket I stole from Adam Pascal so that he was cold and shivering on the way home?
That's good, Shiksa. But they wouldn't have said that because Adam obviously just doesn't exist as a human being when not a part of their world.

Oh, of course! *duh* He's just a pretty face to drool over and a pretty voice to obsess with. *headdesk*

So...off topic...anyone have any suggestions for Baking with Amber this week?
I'm making a lemon pound cake tomorrow (for my sister), but beyond that I'm out of ideas...
How about a souffle? It sounds challenging.
I just hate that these people seem to be the majority of people claiming to be Rent fans these days. I don't want to be associated with people like that act like that, because they're just embarassing. I was a Rent fan when I was 15 too, but I can't imagine EVER acting like that and being so disrespectful to a performer. It's just disappointing, because Rent is a show that deserves much better.
By the way, Adam didn't have the brown leather jacket at Cortland- he was wearing a black one. If he had the brown one, I would have laughed.
