I don't think the character was supposed to be gay.
Here's something new, though from a few months ago. The Adam Pascal Online site has been updated with some new pictures, and there was one I'd never seen before. Apparently Adam and Anthony appeared at the People for the American Way annual awards ceremony in Washington back in December. There's a little story about it in something called Washington Life too.

Anthony's had that photo on his MySpace profile for a while, I think, but I never knew where it came from.
And I'm totally betting "kicked-off the ceremony with a bang" included singing What You Own.
That's what I thought too.
There were some other good new pictures also, like this one from Gentlemen of Verona -
and some excellent screencaps of the original Rent Press Reel -
Whoa, Adam's a lady's man Just kidding.
Adam & Cybele look terrific in that 1st picture.

Okay, so I just visited the site, and I'm happy to report that I can now again count the number of pores on Adam's nose and cheeks.
Yes, those HQ pictures can be quite overwhelming. I could even read the name on the box Adam was opening in the picture with Elton. "Theo Fe[nnell]," which I believe is the name of a British jewleler. It was probably a watch. Elton loves giving people watches.
Angela, I didn't even realize I'd chosen two pictures with sort of chiming poses like that until after I posted them. At least I didn't go for one of the ones where he's actually kissing Daphne.

Chloe, I think that's his standard "hand on the woman's stomach" awkward pose.
I sent this to a couple people already, but as this song has been a topic of discussion on this thread recently as well as in the past, I uploaded the sheet music from the score. I'm not sure how many of you are interested, but as pianist (albeit one not well-versed in theory), I find this sort of stuff quite interesting. Chloe figured out that the treble clef notes are actually written an octave higher than they're sung. You'll also see that we were all wrong with our talk of C-sharps in general, as the note (written as D-flat, but it's the same note on the piano) only appears once in the song.

Feel free to give us your thoughts when you have a chance, Amber.
Has everyone had a good day? My feet and legs are pretty much dead from work. I just bought new shoes that both adhere to the dress code and are supposed to give me support, but I can't say that I'm feeling it. My extreme discomfort probably has to do with me not exactly being used to standing on my feet for hours on end.
I miss the conversational banter in this thread -- I know it moved to the Banal Details thread for a while (and perhaps it made a bit more sense for it to be in there), but I miss talking to all the "regulars"!

I'm going to sit down at el piano shortly and see what I see :)
I understand the shoe thing...after getting the specific shoes for work I needed, I also don't feel the support (and they certainly aren't attractive). But standing for 5 hours in any shoe will be probably less than comfortable...
I'm sorry that your feet hurt Lexi.
I'm really tired today because I had such a hard time getting to sleep last night. I really hope that I don't have trouble tonight. My birthday is tomorrow so I'll be out all day.
Well, I finally got my copy of the Sweeney Todd convert DVD, because I'd had my copy from Netflix for about a month. So, I watched that. Then I watched Angels in America for a while, and then went with my sister to get some food, and now I'm here. Quite exciting.

Yep, the shoes are pretty ugly. My mother was all, "You're going to bring these to New York and wear them around the city, right?" Right, Mom!
At least I'm getting paid for my feet to hurt, Bohemian, but thanks for the sympathy! Happy early birthday! Do you have any special plans for tomorrow?
Mandi, is that Sweeney DVD a legal recording? I actually read a synposis of Sweeney's plot and listened to the CR all the way through a couple nights ago, so that was quite a feat for me. I talked a bit with Ashley about it, but my overall conclusion is that while I appreciate the music, it's not really a show I relate to on any level, nor is it something that I can imagine myself listening to over and over. I still hope to see it before it closes, though, although I'm not sure if that's possible.

Nothing too shocking when playing through it...some of the time changes and such were pretty interesting. Did that come from a vocal book of Chess? It's always interesting that a lot of the "accompaniments" are so melody based, like when you get sheet music of pop stuff.
I do love Chess. In fact, I think I need to listen right now...

It's supposedly from the actual score, although like I mentioned, Chloe figured out that the actual vocals are an octave below what is written (at least for Pity the Child).

Right, but that's pretty common (especially in musical theatre stuff)...the actual setup just looked more vocal score than actual full score (stranger things have happened though).
I'm trying to decide what to do. Other than ya know, run out to spend money...
Yep, it's legal. It's a great cast too, George Hearn, Patti LuPone, NPH, Victoria Clark, and random opera singers. And it's different from how concerts usually are, with people carrying around music and stuff. I love it.
The Hearn/Lansbury video is really good too. Watching that was the first time I heard Sweeney, and it's great to see it fully staged and such. And Angela is brilliant, but some of the people in it are just...not my favorites.

Thanks Lexi. My best friend and I are going to spend the day in the city and then see Avenue Q.

Oh. Well, I don't know a thing about scores, so it could very well be this vocal score that you're talking about. I wish I knew more about all of this!
Sounds fun, Bohemian. Have you seen Avenue Q before? I haven't. It does strike me as the type of show that I wouldn't want to see twice.
One thing that is quite strange about work is how absolutely young I feel there. There are quite a few employees who are around my age or a year older, but I feel almost looked down upon as the baby of the employees. I normally feel older than everyone everywhere I go, so it's a strange change of pace that I can't stand. It might have something to do with being in training, I suppose.

I feel ya on that...I'm technically out of training, but I still feel younger than everyone. What's sad though is I'm older than everyone (apparently once you turn 18 you're supposed to be a waiter...I missed that memo).
Random theatre geeking: This weekend I'm getting tickets to the DRS Tour with Norbert I'm a bit excited!
I had the same issue where I worked last summer, Lexi. I was only the youngest by a few years, but the few years made the difference between what I was and wasn't allowed to do (since I wasn't 21). It's annoying, but I would think that it'll improve when you're finished with training.
Have fun while you're in the city, Bohemian.
That is exciting Amber, I totally understand why you would geek out. I think I need to buy a cast recording of a musical that I'm not familiar with, so I have something to do with my time. Any suggestions?
I have seen it already. My friend isn't in love with theater, so I decided that it would be a good show to bring her to. I'm sure that some of the jokes won't be as funny the second time, but I'll have a good time regardless.
You probably won't feel quite as young once you finish your training. It's always hard to work with people who have more experience than you, but I'm sure that you'll feel better soon.
That's exciting Amber. He's so good in the role. Thanks Ashley. :)

I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with drinking or even co-workers hanging out together after work, though. It's just an overall attitude, but it's hard to put my finger on exactly what it is. Someone graduated this year as well and is treated a lot more like "one of the crowd" when she's at work, even though she's only worked for a few more weeks than I have.
