I probably would not enjoy Trader Joe's.
I was just thinking of the different eatting choices (well Em doesn't choose what's she's allergic to) of my NY tour guides and myself, we all seem very different. I believe that NY has very diverse restaurants, and I'll be on vacation, so I'll try to be more open-minded.
Have you ever tried Ethiopian food? It's very good, and there are some good places in the city.
I pretty much stick to the "American" grill style of food.
haha, oookay.
Which is interesting because the one restaurant we figured I'd have no problem eatting at in the Domincan was called the American grill. They had no hamburgers, chicken fingers, french fries, etc. They did however have an a capella quartet singing "I Swear".
I hope you take advantage of being in the city to widen your food horizons. There are so, so many incredible restaurants of all types.
I'm hoping too. Pretty much if you put on an angry face and say "Eat this" I will. My roommate had to do that a few times.

Hi girls! Why isn't there a Michael Cerveris love thread? He deserves one. In addition to being the sweetest little man ever, he's amazing.
Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well.
Hi Lexi!
There's actually a new one floating around on the main board; it's the Michael Cerveris Appreciation Thread, I think.
Hope you're enjoying NYC! I'll be back there tomorrow.
*waves to Lexi*
It was nice talking to you yesterday!
Happy 4th of July to Everyone!
Wow that took a long time. Hope everybody is having fun on our nation's birthday. ♥

I told Fantab my story, but it was probably relatively incoherent due to my excitement, so I'll post it again. It was great talking to you too, Fantab!
I wasn't planning on stagedooring because I had to meet my relatives at the Rainbow Room (they had seen Drowsy, which is a bit shorter than Sweeney). However, I gave it a shot anyway -- I wasn't expecting the stagedoor to be like, RIGHT there. So, yes, my little fangirl heart went pidder-padder when Michael came out. He was wearing a shirt with a skull and crossbones (or a similar design)... very, uh, appropriate? Anyway, I told him that I came from Fargo, ND to see Sweeney, and he slipped into this Canadian accent and was said, "Fargo, eh?" (I think people often confuse us with Canada...) He said that he had been there, saying that he had kicked off a tour there. I said something like, "I'm sure THAT was a sell-out crowd!" trying to mock Fargo's small size, but I think it might have come off as insulting his popularity. Heh. He was still really sweet, though!
And for the Mano girls... I told him that I'd listened to his music on his MySpace. (I didn't exactly specify if I really enjoyed it!) He said something like, "It's all about the MySpace!" and I told him that I didn't have one. He seemed surprised to know that you could listen to the music even without an account. I said something about trying to stay away from the creeps on there (holla, Adam). Mano was taking a few photos with people near me, so I asked him for one, but he just walked away. Hah, I'm over it.
For as much as I thought stagedooring was a fun experience, I have to say that Sweeney is really like nothing I've ever seen before. I told Fantab last night that it is by absolutely no means my favorite show, but I've never seen a show that rivals its intensity, and I'm not sure that I ever will. Anything I say about all of the cast being so talented has already been said a million times before, but all the cliches about the show are true. I'm not sure if this makes sense, but it's almost one of those shows that I don't want to see ever again because the first time was so dramatic and intense that I don't think it could ever come close again for me. I'm sure the performances are consistently great, but I feel like seeing it again would reduce the awe I had in seeing it once. I could just be subconsciously compensating for not being able to see it again, though!
Aw, Mano, why were you a dumbass? He probably didn't hear you.
I'm glad you loved the show!
I had something like that happen once.
I'm happy that you had such a great time!
I surprisingly caught most of that in your state of rambly excitement! And I'm so glad you enjoyed it.

I think he probably did (he was right next to me), but he had to go to the other side of the barricades and sign. Heh, it's okay, though. I'm not planning on holding it against him! My heart belongs to Mr. Michael, anyway. Speaking of him, I was trying SO HARD to come up with ways to incorporate Under Pressure into the conversation, but failed. I suppose he wouldn't remember a drunken night in 2003 anyway.

Awww! Well, sometimes he's a little bit slow.
You probably have the balls to show him those photos I have from the Under Pressure performance, Lexi. You should take them one day!
Yay, Lexi! I'm glad you had a good time. I just saw the show this weekend and was blown away.

Aw, glad you liked it!
Hope you guys have a great 4th! I'm currently shaking my fist in the general direction of the apple pie I just made. Grrrrr...luckily, I have more apples...so we're going to have to try again after work!

I'm glad you're having an awesome time in NYC Lexi! Sounds like Sweeney was great. Do you plan on seeing any more shows?
Lexi!! *hugs*
I think I probably missed you, but I'm so glad that you liked Sweeney! And got to meet Michael. There actually is a Michael Cerveris love thread on the main board as of late. Anyway, have a great time the rest of the week!
Good to hear from you, Lexi, glad you liked Sweeney!
Aw, I missed Lexi. I was strangely tired yesterday and went back to bed right before she came on.
Here's some news at last - Macy's is listing Adam as one of the performers for tonight's fireworks display, which will be on NBC at 9 pm here on the east coast. I doubt he'll be there in person, as the soundtrack is always prerecorded, but it'll be fun to hear him singing (hopefully) something new.

I finally watched the documentary about Jonathan on my RENT dvd, and got to the part where Adam is singing in that awful, horrible, outfit. I literally gasped and winced when I saw it. Oh, Adam. Suspenders and a tie?
Fireworks! YAY YAY YAAAAAY!
